Itinerary
Start your adventure in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito. Sample sweet chirimoya fruit and Cayambe biscuits in Otavalo and Cuicocha. Visit the Plaza de los Planchos, a renowned indigenous market. Then, hop on a boat ride across Cuicocha Crater Lake. The next day will feature a tour of Quito, with a stop at a family run sweet shop, before you head to the Equator line.

Travel to the Amazon rainforest on day four. A motorised canoe ride on the Arajuno river will deliver you to your lodge. In the evening, head out on a guided wildlife walk. During your stay in the jungle, take a brief sojourn to a rescue centre where you can observe monkeys, parrots, and ocelots. A thrilling river tubing adventure is also included.

Return to Quito for an artisanal cacao and chocolate tasting experience, then fly to the Galápagos islands the next day. The birthplace of Darwin's theory of evolution, this archipelago is known for its giant tortoises and stunning biodiversity.

In San Cristóbal, you'll have the chance to delve deeper into both. Stop at a giant tortoise sanctuary, where you can observe these majestic creatures up close. It’s then on to the pristine white sands of Puerto Chino.  This idyllic beach is framed by volcanic rocks and turquoise waters. Continue to La Lobería, home to a permanent colony of Galápagos sea lions. Finish the day with a guided hike along a spectacular coastal trail, with a chance to see a variety of bird species.

Fly back to the mainland, and take a cable car up to the Pichincha Volcano for views over Quito and the Andean landscape. The last leg of your journey will take you Baños de Agua Santa at the foot of the Tungurahua Volcano. See waterfalls cascading through forest-clad canyons on a tour of the tranquil countryside. A day at leisure will allow you to browse artisanal shops or relax at natural hot springs.

Return to Quito for a final night before flying back home in the UK.
