Itinerary
Start your adventure in Quito, the Ecuadorian capital. Sample the local fare, in the form of sweet chirimoya fruit and Cayambe biscuits. The Plaza de los Planchos, a renowned indigenous market, is laden with artisanal goods. Then, hop on a boat ride across Cuicocha Crater Lake. Tour Quito the following day, with a stop at a family run sweet shop, before you head to the Equator line.

Travel to the Amazon rainforest on day four. You'll ride a motorised canoe along the Arajuno river on the way to your lodgeA night-time wildlife walk will reveal some of the rainforest's nocturnal beasties that call the Amazon their home. Later during your stay, visit a rescue centre where you can observe monkeys, parrots, and ocelots. A river tubing adventure is also included.

Return to Quito for an artisanal cacao and chocolate tasting experience, then fly to the Galápagos islands the next day. The birthplace of Darwin's theory of evolution, this archipelago is known for its giant tortoises and stunning biodiversity.

In San Cristóbal, you'll have the chance to delve deeper into both. Stop at a giant tortoise sanctuary, where you can observe these creatures up close. It’s then on to the white sands of Puerto Chino. This beach is framed by volcanic rocks and turquoise waters. Visit a permanent colony of Galápagos sea lions at La Lobería, before finishing the day with a guided hike along a coastal trail.

Fly back to the mainland, and take a cable car up to the Pichincha Volcano for views over Quito and the Andean landscape. The last leg of your journey will take you Baños de Agua Santa at the foot of the Tungurahua Volcano. See waterfalls cascading through forest-clad canyons on a tour of the tranquil countryside. A day at leisure will allow you to browse artisanal shops or relax at natural hot springs.

Return to Quito for a final night before flying back home in the UK.
