Itinerary
Upon arrival, you'll be greeted and transported to your hotel in Beijing. The next day, travel to Tiananmen Square. Discover the Forbidden City, the largest collection of ancient buildings in China.
You'll then stop for lunch before continuing to the Great Wall. This impressive fortification has also been voted one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The next day will be yours to explore as you wish.
On day four, board the bullet train to Xi'an. You'll be transferred to your hotel, then will have the rest of the day to yourself.
Spend day five exploring Xi'an, beginning with the world-famous Terracotta Army. Enjoy a Chinese buffet lunch, then visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. This ancient Buddhist pagoda is one of the oldest surviving structures of its kind in China.
Discover Xi’an's ancient city walls with a guided walk. Finish the day in the city's Muslim Quarter, with its labyrinthine streets and 10th-century mosque.
It's then time to fly to Shanghai. The following day, join an immersive city tour. Begin in The Bund district, famous for its promenade from which you can take in fantastic views of the Pudong skyline. Continue to the Lujiazui district for lunch.
Tour Yu Garden, the Old Town Bazaar, and the Nine-turn Bridge in the Chinese Gardens. Explore the former French Concession, walk along Nanjing Road, and visit the Jade Buddha Temple.
You'll then take the bullet train to Hangzhou, known as one of the Eight Ancient Capitals of China. Spend the next two days here. Be sure to visit West Lake—it's a 50-minute taxi ride from the hotel. This UNESCO-listed lake features picture-perfect pagodas, temples, and gardens.
