Itinerary

  • Day 1… touch down in Colombo after an overnight flight. Relax at the pool or book a massage at the hotel spa before dinner at a traditional restaurant. Your evening meal will be served under a 200-year-old banyan tree.
  • Day 2… drive through the lush countryside to your lakeside hotel in Habarana. On the way, visit the Dambulla cave temples, which have been a pilgrimage site for over 2000 years.
  • Day 3… set off to Sigiriya, home to the famous Lion Rock. You'll climb atop a huge column of rock to see the ruins of an ancient citadel.
  • Day 4… continue your journey to Kandy, visiting a spice garden in Matale en route. Wander through gardens full of spices and herbs, and learn more about their uses and the products created with them.
  • Day 5… take a tour of Kandy, one of Sri Lanka's most scenic cities. Next, uncover the country's most important Buddhist shrine, the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
  • Day 6… travel to Nuwara Eliya in the highlands. The city is nicknamed "Little England" for its colonial brick houses, and red postboxes. You'll also stop by a tea plantation and factory.
  • Day 7… drive to your safari chalet in the deep south. You'll stop at Ravana Ella, one of Sri Lanka's widest waterfalls. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel.
  • Day 8… trace wildlife on a private jeep safari in the Yala National Park. You could spot leopards, buffalos, wild boars, and crocodiles.
  • Day 9… take a private transfer to your beach hotel in Beruwala. Stop in Galle on the way—this walled town is known for its grand colonial mansion. In Beruwala, relax under swaying palms to the soothing sound of the Indian Ocean.
  • Day 10… conclude your adventure with a transfer to Colombo airport.
