Itinerary
Fly into Lima, where you'll be picked up from the airport. You'll get acquainted with the city on a full-day tour. Visit the UNESCO-listed Old Town, and the Santo Domingo Convent.
Next, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. You'll wind your way through the Sacred Valley. Take in views of the Urubamba River, the flourishing landscapes, and charming villages. The following morning you'll get a bus up to Aguas Calientes, and visit Machu Picchu. This incredible citadel is considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world.
In the morning you'll journey onto Cusco, where you'll have a guided half-day tour. Visit the vibrant square of Plaza de Armas and the sacred Cusco Cathedral. Next, the Koricancha temple and finally the bohemian San Blas district.
It's then onto Puno, the gateway to Lake Titicaca. You'll take the scenic route there, via petrified forests, and blue lakes teeming with flamingos. Visit the village of Andahuaylillas home to a Baroque church with gold, woodcarvings, and paintings. You'll then continue onto the archaeological site of Raqchi. After a local lunch, reach the La Raya Pass which is 4,335 metres above sea level. At the end of the day you'll head to Puno.
After breakfast you'll head to Lake Titicaca. You'll take a motorboat to the remote and serene Taquile Island. The community has preserved its pre-Inca way of life for centuries. You'll also visit the nearby Huayllano community to learn about their daily customs. Enjoy a traditional Andean lunch prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Then travel by boat to the floating Uros Islands. These man-made islands are built from reeds that grow in the lake.
You'll then fly back to Lima for one final night before your flight home.
