Itinerary highlights
- Day 1... join a Colombo city tour to see Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, Galle Face Green, Pettah Market, and the historic Red Mosque.
- Day 2... visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as Lion's Rock. This UNESCO-listed site is crowned by a royal palace surrounded by lush gardens. Climb to the top for panoramic views.
- Day 3... begin with a trip to the Dambulla Cave Temple. This cave complex is filled with stunning Buddhist murals and over 150 statues of the Buddha. Continue to a spice garden—tour the fragrant gardens and receive a head massage. On to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred site which houses the Buddha's tooth. Finish the day with a tour of Kandy's sights.
- Day 4... stop at the thundering Ramboda Falls as you travel to a tea factory and tea plantation today. Chat with local tea harvesters and immerse yourself in Sri Lanka's tea heritage. You'll then tour Nuwara Eliya—take in the pink post office, Victoria Park's serene landscapes, and the Nuwara Eliya Race Course. At the end of the day, enjoy a walk around Gregory Lake.
- Day 5... travel towards Beruwala, calling at the Seetha Amman Temple and St Clair's Waterfall along the way. You'll then arrive at the Madu River, where you'll take a thrilling river safari through mangrove forests. Next, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, a conservation centre dedicated to protecting sea turtles. Observe the hatchlings and learn about the hatchery's efforts.
- Days 6–11... spend the next five days relaxing at your all-inclusive resort. The hotel is right on the palm-fringed beach. There's also an outdoor swimming pool.
