About the castle
The current castle was built in the early 1800s for the 5th Duke and Duchess of Rutland. It is the fourth castle to stand on the majestic hilltop site in Leicestershire. Inside you'll find the opulent State Rooms, with an impressive collection of artworks, armour, and Regency decor. It also features multiple manicured gardens, a vineyard, an animal park, and a retail village. A star of the screen, it has been used in "The Crown", "The Young Victoria", and "Victoria & Abdul".

Christmas at Belvoir Castle will see the estate illuminated with sparkling lights and storybook decor. In the castle, see creative displays with seasonal furnishings and festive storytelling. Step outside and take a walk around the parkland and grounds, which will be transformed into a winter wonderland. The Christmas Mice Trail is included in your ticket—follow it along around the castle's grand rooms to uncover tiny surprises. You can also add on the chance to meet Santa in his grotto, and a festive afternoon tea featuring seasonal snacks.
