About the show
The show is set in Hawkins in 1959, a regular town, with people living regular lives. A young Jim Hopper is struggling with his car, and Bob Newby is having family qualms. Joyce Maldonado wants to escape the mundanity of her home town after graduation. When a new student, Henry Creel, arrives he and his family find past shadows aren't as easy to escape as they thought.
The play has won a several awards since opening three years ago. This includes Best Entertainment and Best Set Design at the Olivier Awards. It also won Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards. Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry ("The Crown", "Billy Elliot", "The Reader") and co-director Justin Martin (Prima Facie, The Inheritance) make up part of the creative team.
