The staff were good

There was no atmosphere at all. Looked like a hotel breakfast room. I think they separated travel zoo customers from the rest of the restaurant diners, which meant there was not many people in our section of the restaurant.

Food was beautifully presented and very good.

Such a lovely restaurant, brilliant staff, delicious food, such good value. Happy to recommend and more than happy to go again anytime.

Beautiful setting overlooking Kensington Gardens. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Bogdan and the other staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

There were 8 of us dining and the whole experience was very good. The staff was on point. The age range was between 50 and 87 and there were no complaints. The only thing I thought, the drinks were a little to expensive.

Good value deal, easy to book. Food very tasty, (little small on portion size for me!), and ideally located to attend Royal Albert Hall for a show afterwards

This is the 2nd time I have been to this hotel on a dining offer and both times were made very welcome, just like any other guest paying full price.

Very nice, well presented food. Would have liked some bread. Seated next to group of 8 or so business people all on lap tops which was not ideal. We were seated before they arrived. Order taken on scrap of paper which not very professional. Frustrating to have chosen our selections to then be told upon ordering what was not available - annoying & disappointing

Good location to High St Kensington. We walked up from the V& A museum which was easy and not too far.

We had a table of 6 friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Origin Restaurant at the Royal Garden Hotel. The 3 courses were so varied, thoroughly enjoyed all that we chose, in fact couldn't fault anything. Well done to Origin.

We enjoyed a delicious meal served by very attentive staff. Our window table overlooked Kensington Gardens which was a beautiful scene during Autumn fall.

I would like to thank the very kind receptionist who took time and trouble to find me an ice pack as I had a fall on the way to the restaurant and was in a lot of pain.

Service initially was exceptionally slow despite very few customers, providing a disappointing early experience but the staff then redeemed themselves when dealing with an issue that saw them provide complimentary drinks. The food was top notch and highly recommended. The special Travelzoo menu had an impressive selection of choices on offer.

I would highly recommend the experience to anyone with beautifully cooked and presented food and with views over Kensington Gardens. It is handily located only a 5 minute walk from Kensington High Street tube station.

Not this time sadly!

Have been to Origin 3 times so far for a Sunday lunch (twice good, once poor). But this was the first time going of an evening. It was my partner's birthday so we hoped to have a lovely meal. The starter of chicken confit was over salted and my portion was full of grizzle, very unpleasant. Mains we both ordered the shepherds pie but rather than a conventional one made with minced lamb, the chef (probably trying to be clever) used pulled lamb rather like pulled pork and it was dry and does not go well underneath piped potatoes. Yes there was a small pot of gravy but the shepherd's pie should have gravy within it (The Ivy chain of restaurants does a perfect shepherd's pie). Even the sides of cabbage and bacon wasn't great... Desert I ordered the chocolate and spiced pear souffle which was ok but could have been better. All in all not the standard of food that I expected and I do know good food. Little ambience as not many people eating and this was a Friday evening. Will I return? Well I would for the Sunday lunch as it was very good in the summer, but never of an evening. Once the service charge is added, plus sides and a couple of soft drinks, the overall cost is almost £100 which for what we were given is not value at all. The royal garden used to have a fabulous restaurant called the Park Terrace. The food was outstanding and the actual restaurant was one you would want to eat in. Origin has lost its way... it looks more like a bistro; the chairs are not that comfortable and I cannot see how they will keep getting returning guests unless they provide consistently high quality food that tastes perfect.

A wonderful setting to enjoy a long overdue catchup with friends. Beautiful view if the Park in sublime autumnal colours. Very relaxed setting with wonderful food and excellent staff.

The food was nice but not worth the wait

Half an hour wait between dishes, no check backs, left waiting for the bill for half an hour - only got to pay the bill when we eventually got up to go to the desk and he ran after us. Would’ve taken service charge off but was rushed to pay. Completely inattentive and just awkward

We had a lovely meal. Our previous visit had not been successful and so we were giving it another chance. We will definitely be back.

The Travelxoo deal was £34 for 3 courses and a cocktail. Why not make it £40 and include a side dish and bread?

The food was fabulous but it it was rather lacking in atmosphere and quite a large area of the dark coloured ceiling was white (being plastered or repaired and not repainted. I much preferred the old restaurant on the first floor.

Service was rather slow

The lunch experience was pleasant, but not luxurious. This was the first day of a new menu and the waiter knew nothing about it. We had to ask fellow diners for advice! Food was not as hot as it should have been, but good flavours.

Their booking system had a problem and showed that I had cancelled the booking (which I had not), however, they dealt with this well an gave us a good table wit no delay.

Good quality food that was very well presented. Excellent service. The restaurant does lack atmosphere but is well worth visiting.

The setting is lovely. Despite being almost empty, we found the staff to be very inattentive. The food was good for the price, although not without errors. The pork belly starter was excellent, but my trout was way overcooked and dry. I found the lamb main to be fatty, but the lemon so was very good. There was also a lack of carbs on all dishes, so not particularly filling. Both desserts were excellent, and it’s still good value.

At the Royal Garden Hotel, my friend and I had a lovely lunch at the Origin restaurant. The venue is light, bright with fabulous music. Courteous staff and very tasty food. We enjoyed all our choices starter (pork belly), main (lemon sole) and dessert (cheesecake with cream).

Special thanks to Nicole, the host who gave us a warm welcome on arrival also to Ayush who was attentive, served us well at our table with a generous smile. Thank you.

Delicious food, friendly and attentive staff, pleasant setting

Warm welcome. We sat by the window with a full view of Kensington Palace garden. We had a 3course meal as a set menu, and there was a variety to choose from. All courses were beautifully presented and each time we were so overwhelmed in the way the staff brought the food over and carefully presented it to us. I had the best Shepherds pie ever. It wasn't made with mince.The lamb must have been cooked for hours and shredded. I wished I could attach a picture. We were overcome by the whole experience. The staff were so lovely and attended to our needs throughout. On behalf of my 4 friends, I would like to say a warm Thank you to all the staff at The Royal Garden Hotel.
