Itinerary highlights
First, you'll relax at a beach hotel on the shores of the Red Sea. All your meals and drinks are included here.
Then, transfer to the Nile and sail into a world of swaying date palms, golden temples, and sleepy water buffalo. Stops include:
- Edfu... a temple complex with some of the most colourful preserved hieroglyphs.
- Philae... a secluded island-based temple complex, with plenty of resident cats.
- Kom Ombo... a large hilltop temple overlooking the riverbank.
- Luxor... make sure you see the impressive Avenue of Sphinxes.
- Valley of the Kings... visit Tutankhamun's tomb on an optional excursion.
- Karnak... is the largest ancient religious site in the world.
The pace of the voyage is very relaxed. When not out exploring, most passengers sunbathe around the pool on the top deck. The ship sails very close to the riverbanks so you can see changing scenes of daily life. At sunset, you'll hear the call to prayer ring from the small towns nearby.
Excursions aren't included unless you add an excursion package, which includes transportation, entry fees, and a guide. Some temples are walkable from the riverbank if you'd prefer to explore independently.
