Ship details
AmaDolce is a luxury riverboat purpose-built to sail around the Bordeaux region. It carries 148 passengers at full capacity—small enough to dock in the heart of each port, including the city of Bordeaux itself.
Cruise Critic praises its "devotion to the culinary arts". AmaWaterways is the only river cruise line to be part of Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs, the world's oldest gastronomic society.
A standout feature is the Chef's Table restaurant. All passengers can enjoy a meal there for no charge, plus all other meals in the Main Restaurant. The Chef's Table has an open kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the ship's wake. You'll be served a multi-course meal complete with paired wines.
You'll be busy in port each day, but in the evenings you can enjoy live music in The Lounge, the main after-dinner spot. There's also plenty of outdoor seating and a whirlpool tub on the top deck.
Half-day excursions, which are included, are mostly undertaken by coach. However, the ship also has a fleet of bicycles and Nordic walking sticks that are available to hire for no extra charge.
Other options
Sail in a French Balcony Cabin from £2249 per person for June–July dates and £2049 in November.
