Itinerary

  • Amsterdam, Netherlands... fly into the Dutch capital, and transfer to the port to embark the ship. The next morning, cruise along the iconic canals, under charming bridges and past gabled houses. Then, set sail for the Rhine.
  • Dusseldorf, Germany... take a walking tour of the city's highlights, and enjoy a local beer tasting. Or, explore the city by bike on a cycling tour. You could also head over to the charming city of Cologne.
  • Rudesheim, Germany... see the rolling vineyards from above on a scenic gondola ride, then taste some of the Rheingau wine. Or, hike and bike through the beautiful landscape. Later, you can choose from a visit to Siegfried's Mechanical Instrument Cabinet, or taste some Rudesheimer coffee, made with brandy and whipped cream.
  • Mainz, Germany... is at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers. Join a walking tour of the city, or head to Wiesbarten to explore its theatre and famous thermal springs. A third option is a guided bike tour through Mainz. Later, you'll cruise the scenic Rhine Gorge to Lahnstein, and go on an exclusive visit to Burg Lahneck Castle.
  • Cochem, Luxembourg... cruise down the scenic Moselle river to Cochem, with its half-timbered houses and 11th-century hilltop castle. Join a guided tour of the castle and stroll through the Old Town, or hike to the castle and go on a bike tour through Cochem.
  • Bernkastel, Germany... take in Medieval and Renaissance architecture on a guided walking tour, or visit a local winery. You could also hike to the 9th-century Landshut Castle ruins, or go on a scenic bike tour along the river.

Disembark back in Luxembourg for your flight home.

AmaWaterways ships average around 156 guests, and service is exemplary due to the high crew-to-guest ratio. Meals are all included, from breakfast and lunch buffets to lavish 4-course dinners. Much of the food is inspired by the ports of call and regional wine and beer is served with dinner.

Breakfast comes with unlimited sparkling wine and fresh fruit juice. You can also dine at the Chef's Table speciality restaurant, which hosts a 7-course tasting menu with paired wines. There's a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour held before dinner, where passengers can discuss the day's excursions together.
