Itinerary
Spend five nights at Banyan Tree Phuket, which has all-pool villas surrounding a peaceful lagoon.
Make use of the complimentary bicycles to explore the cycle paths at the resort's 89-acre golf course. Book a round of golf for an extra fee. Relax at the hotel's beach club, which has three infinity pools and is right by Bang Tao Beach. This is one of Phuket's most beautiful beaches, with white sands and calm seas.
All meals are included. Choose from seven restaurants and cafes, serving Thai, Japanese, Spanish, and seafood dishes.
Fly to Phuket for an overnight stay at Banyan Tree Bangkok. Head to the resort's 61st floor rooftop bar for fantastic city views. Breakfast is served in the Vertigo Too restaurant on the 60th floor. Select from six restaurants for lunch and dinner, or head out into Bangkok to sample local cuisine.
Board Explora III and call at:
- Koh Samui, Thailand... sun yourself on endless stretches of powdery soft sands. Alternatively, join optional excursions to visit the Big Buddha Temple or Ang Thong National Marine Park (supplements apply).
- Langkawi, Thailand... this island is a mix of turquoise seas, lush rainforests, and dramatic mountain peaks. Ride the cable car (fees apply) to the top of Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi's second-highest mountain.
- Port Kelang, Malaysia... this is the jumping off point for trips to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital. Wander streets lined with food stalls, and admire a skyline dotted with skyscrapers and minarets. See the Petronas Twin Towers, or take a trip to the nearby Batu Caves, a sacred Hindu site (additional fees apply for excursions).
- Malacca, Malaysia... admire the Flor de La Mar, a replica of a Portuguese galleon. Spend time relaxing in Dutch Square, with its terracotta-red buildings. Visit the A'Famosa fort, which dates back to 1511, and take in the Porta de Santiago gate.
Disembark the ship in Singapore and continue home.
Ship details
Explora III is due to launch this summer. It will be the first ship in Explora Journeys' fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The ship is expected follow in its sister ships' footsteps. Explora Journeys' vessels are styled after private yachts and have a low passenger-to-crew ratio.
There will be seven restaurants and 12 bars and lounges, all of which will be included in the fare. Pick from five heated pools and two infinity whirlpools. There will also be a running track aboard the ship.
The cruise line's Ocean Terrace Suites are some of the largest entry-level suites in the cruise industry. Each suite will have floor-to-ceiling windows and a private sun terrace with a day bed. As with other ships in the fleet, your suite's mini bar is restocked according to your preferences.
