Cruise itinerary highlights**
- Ponta Delgada... arrive in Ponta Delgada, the capital of the Azores. Transfer from the airport to the city and spend the day at your own pace. Stay overnight before embarking the ship in the afternoon.
- Pico... explore the tallest mountain on the Atlantic Ridge. Visit one of the island's former whaling villages. Then, travel to the wine region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a tasting before sailing to the island of Faial.

It is naturally cooked underground from the heat of volcanic activity. Join local spotters and a marine biologist on a catamaran in search of whales, dolphins, and porpoises. Disembark the ship and transfer to the airport.

National Geographic Orion carries 102 passengers and a crew of 76. It is an authentic expedition ship equipped with state-of-the-art tools for exploration.
