Itinerary
Begin your adventure with a land tour. Enjoy stays in Iguazu and Sao Paulo before your cruise. You'll also get to visit both the Brazilian and Argentine sides of Iguazu Falls, on two guided tours. An excursion to the falls is a "jaw-dropping, visceral experience", says Lonely Planet.
You'll then board Majestic Princess and cruise for 22 nights, calling at:
- Buenos Aires... you'll board the ship here. You could tuck into a juicy Argentinian steak or catch a tango show before departing.
- Montevideo... this stop is a whirlwind of cobblestone streets, tango music, and great wine.
- Rio de Janeiro... visit the Christ the Redeemer statue and take in the incredible views across the city. The statue is within the tranquil Tijuca National Park, which is home to over 300 species of animals and over 1600 plant species.
- Gran Canaria... spend the day in Las Palmas, known for its sunny languor and friendly vibe along the sandy sweep of Las Canteras beach. Or, admire dramatic variations of terrain from the green north to the desert-like south on an excursion around the island.
- Lanzarote... Arrecife has a hotchpotch of charming downtown backstreets leading to an inviting promenade and a sandy beach. You can also explore the island further afield, and admire an astonishing geology of eerie lava fields, hundreds of volcanic cones, and bucolic palm-filled valleys.
- Tenerife... Lonely Planet describes the island as a place of "extraordinary beauty and diversity". The capital, Santa Cruz, is a handsome city to keep you busy for the day.
- Casablanca... handsome architecture blends Moorish style with European Art Deco. Take a stroll along the oceanfront La Corniche to meet the fashionable crowd in trendy cocktail bars and beach clubs.
- La Coruna... is a port along Galician shores, with lively streets lined with seafood restaurants and tapas bars. Visit the Tower of Hercules, or take in sweeping coastal views from the sculpture park.
The final port will be Southampton. You'll make your way home from here.
