Itinerary highlights
First, spend two nights in New York's Garment District, in midtown Manhattan. The hotel has a rooftop bar with amazing views. Its location makes a perfect base for exploring. Times Square and the Empire State Building are around 10–15 minutes' walk. 

Next, board Regatta for a 15-night cruise in Canada and New England. Ports include:

• Boston... you can easily catch a bus or taxi from the port to the city. It is one of the oldest in the whole of the USA. Explore the Freedom Trail and its historic sites, including the city's oldest building. Modern museums and galleries are around every corner.
• Portland... sail up to Maine and make port steps from downtown Portland. Stuff yourself with clam chowder and lobster rolls after exploring the old cobbled harbour. Cape Elizabeth, a short drive, has one of the most-photographed lighthouses in the US.
• Saint John... this city has the highest tides in the world, and was a prime shipbuilding hub. Nowadays, it has a pretty and walkable downtown. Head to Reversing Falls Rapids on the Saint John Skywalk to see an impressive waterfall and whirlpool.
• Halifax... this cosy red-brick seaside town is small but mighty. Visit the first-rate restaurants, museums, and public parks. Peggy's Cove Lighthouse is around 45 minutes' drive away.
• Charlottetown... this is the main town on Prince Edward Island. This is where Anne of Green Gables was filmed. Enjoy a walk followed by a traditional lobster supper.
• Saguenay... is your introduction to Quebec. You'll sail down the only river navigable by cruise ships in North America. You might even spot a whale on your way there.
• Quebec City (overnight in port)... finally, immerse yourself in Québécois culture with a day and night in port. Wander the steep cobbled streets of Vieux-Québec, crowned by the iconic Château Frontenac. Don't miss the delicious poutine.

Finally, sail back to New York and head to the airport to catch your flight home.

Ship details
Cruise Critic calls Regatta the "Goldilocks ship" as it's not too big, nor too small. Accommodating just 694 passengers, it never feels too crowded. During the day, you can relax by the swimming pool, or in the plush spa. In the evenings, you can catch a Broadway-style show, or sing along in the piano bar.

There are five dining options on board, all of which are included. Speciality options include an Italian restaurant, and a steak and seafood venue. There's also a poolside grill, a cafe, and the main dining room. This offers plenty of variety each day, including a 'taste of the world' special at lunch times.
