Itinerary
First, spend two nights at a 5-star hotel that's around 10 minutes' walk from the Acropolis Museum. Spend a full day exploring Athens, then transfer to Piraeus cruise port the next morning. Highlights include:

  • Kuşadasi (for Ephesus)... the port is around a 20-minute taxi ride to the ancient city of Ephesus. Journey 3000 years into the past as you walk the streets of one of the world's best-preserved classical cities.
  • Rhodes... you'll dock around 10 minutes' walk from Rhodes Town. Visit the gigantic Palace of the Grand Masters and explore the 15th-century Hospital of the Knights.
  • Amorgos... this is the easternmost island of the Cyclades. Very few cruise lines stop here, and there's no airport. Visit the picturesque Byzantine monastery that clings to the cliffside.
  • Heraklion... Crete's capital is packed with world-class museums and a brilliant summer arts festival. There are often open-air performances and live music.
  • Monemvasia... was once part of the Peloponnese mainland, but is now an island joined by a narrow causeway. There are more churches than residents, and it is known as the Gibraltar of the East.
  • Argostoli... this is the busy working port of Kefalonia. You'll see the catch of the day being sold fresh from the boats. Nearby, explore a 100-million-year-old cave system.
  • Corfu... is a perfect example of ancient Venetian architecture. Wander the boutiques in the winding streets, and visit two ancient fortresses in the old town of Kerkyra.

You'll cruise into Venice and transfer straight to the airport for your flight back.
