Itinerary
Depart from St. John's, Newfoundland's colourful capital, onboard Ocean Albatros. Sail for seven nights and call at:
- Twillingate... this town sits by Notre Dame Bay. Admire the brightly painted houses on the rocky hillside. This stop is known for its fresh seafood, vibrant art scene, and boutique galleries.
- L’Anse aux Meadows... dock close to this National Historic Site of Canada and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll come ashore by means of smaller Zodiac boats, and walk in the footsteps of legendary Norse explorers.
- Red Bay, Labrador... Basque whalers were among the first Europeans to settle on this remote land. Life has long revolved around the ocean, here. Learn about the fascinating history of this charming hamlet from local guides, and explore the wilderness on foot.
- Woody Point... your next stop is this small village by Bonne Bay, set in a deep fjord. It is the gateway for exploring Gros Morne National Park, one of Newfoundland's largest wilderness areas.
- Garia Bay... join the expedition team to watch for seabirds, moose, and black bears here. Given its size, Newfoundland has a relatively small populations, meaning much of the island is wild and untouched.
- St. Pierre, France... stop in the only French territory remaining in North America. Join local guides to learn about life here, and admire the pines and rolling hills in the surrounding landscape.
- St. Johns... disembark where you began your cruise and make your way home.

Ocean Albatros is part of the Polar Latitudes Expeditions fleet. The small ship offers 94 staterooms, each with an ocean view. Full capacity is 175 passengers. Polar Latitudes Expeditions is known for its immersive expedition tours. They focus on exploration and discovery of the world's most remote destinations, wildlife, and cultures.
Onboard you'll find the main dining room, as well as a bistro restaurant serving a’ la carte pizzas and burgers. There is also an alfresco dining option serving BBQ food on deck. Drinks are complimentary during mealtimes.
