Itinerary highlights

  • Koblenz... this romantic town is at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers. Join a local guide for a walking tour so you can get a feel for the region.
  • Boppard... this is a classic wine town, surrounding by rolling vineyards. Sample local wines aboard the ship, then continue through the Middle Rhine Gorge via the scenic Lorelei Rock.
  • Frankfurt... sample the local tipple in one of the city's famous apple-wine taverns. Or, explore the modern side of the city. You can choose a guided coach or walking tour to get your bearings.
  • Aschaffenburg... this riverside city is dominated by the Renaissance Johannisburg Palace. You'll join a local expert on a city tour, finishing up at the grand 17th-century castle complex.
  • Miltenberg... this quaint Bavarian town sits between the river and the forested mountains. Tour around the 16th-century square, then explore the taverns and churches independently.
  • Würzburg... this Medieval city is home to the Residence Palace, which dates back to the early 1700s. You can visit on an included excursion, then tour the historic city centre with a guide.

Ship details
Spirit of the Moselle launched in 2025 as Saga's latest purpose-built river ship. It carries 182 passengers and specialises in cruising for the over-50s. The main deck has floor-to-ceiling windows so you can always see daily life on the riverbank. The main lounge has a café, library, and self-serve tea and coffee. There are two restaurants and all meals are included, as well as daily afternoon tea.
