Itinerary
Start the holiday with three nights in Sigiriya. On your second day, visit the ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The following day, explore the Dambulla Cave Temple—a space laden with paintings and statues relating to the Buddha. This is followed by a rural village experience in Hiriwadunna, where you'll share an authentic Sri Lankan meal.
Next, journey to Kandy. On the way, stop off at the Matale Spice Garden, where a guide will talk you through the history of the surrounding cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. Later that night, take in a cultural dance show. Your stay in Kandy will be rounded off by a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, and the British Garrison Cemetery.
After two nights in Kandy, take a scenic train journey to Nanu Oya. From here, you'll explore Nuwara Eliya, nicknamed 'Little England' due to its European produce and colonial charm. After an overnight stay, visit a nearby tea plantation, the Devon and St. Clair waterfalls, and the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation project.
The last stop on the tour will be Beruwala. You'll have two full days to relax by the beach before heading back to the UK.
