Itinerary details
Start your trip with two nights at a 5-star hotel in Athens. It's just behind the Acropolis Museum, surrounded by local cafes and boutiques. Finish off the day with a nightcap on the rooftop bar, which has views over the Acropolis. 

Your week-long cruise departs on day three, calling at:

• Milos, Greece… this island in the Aegean Sea is known for its dramatic volcanic scenery, vibrant rock formations, and brilliant cobalt-blue waters.
• Katakolon, Greece… is a seaside gateway offering optional excursions (chargeable) to ancient Olympia, the legendary birthplace of the Olympic Games.
• Catania, Sicily… is a vibrant port between the Ionian Sea and the towering Mount Etna. Visit the 13th-century Ursino Castle, or stop by a local trattoria to try arancini (fried rice ball) and pasta alla norma (sautéed eggplant, tomato sauce, and salted ricotta).
• Valletta, Malta… built by the Knights of St. John, this grand fortress city features winding honeycomb streets and St. John's Co-Cathedral, home to opulent Baroque decor and an original Caravaggio masterpiece.
• Palermo, Sicily… is a captivating melting pot of Italian and North African influences, filled with Arabesque domes, ornate churches, bustling street markets, and Medieval alleys.
• Salerno, Italy… this picturesque coastal hub features a breezy seaside promenade, cosy local trattorias, and a Medieval Duomo. It also serves as a jumping-off point for optional trips (fees apply) to the Amalfi Coast, the Royal Palace of Caserta, or the ancient ruins of Herculaneum.

Your journey concludes in Civitavecchia, where you'll transfer to Rome airport.
