Itinerary
- Haugesund... this lively town has a Viking heritage, a vibrant waterfront, and a good selection of shops. It's also the departure point to charming villages and old lighthouses along the scenic coastline, as well as the 32-kilometre long Åkrafjord flanked by steep mountains, and a cascading waterfall.
- Olden... is a real haven for nature lovers. This picturesque village nestled in an enormous fjord is the gateway for excursions to Briksdalbreen, which forms part of one of Europe's largest mainland glaciers.
- Innvikfjord (scenic cruising)... this meandering fjord is 4.5-kilometres long, with peaceful valleys flanked by dramatic snow-capped mountains.
- Nordfjord (scenic cruising)... head to the deck to take in picture-postcard landscapes with glaciers, narrow valleys, and steep mountains plunging into glistening waters.
- Stavanger... wander through a maze of preserved wooden sardine canners' cottages, now a foodie paradise housing food stalls and cafés.
- Kristiansand... Norway's southernmost city is home to the charming Posebyen old town. It's known for its well-preserved wooden architecture, a thriving restaurant and bar scene, a botanical garden, and a museum showcasing Norwegian art and a rich collection of military exhibits.
Ship details
Named by the late Queen Elizabeth II, P&O Cruises' Britannia is "elegant and refined and perfectly captures the spirit of modern Britain" (Cruise Critic). The ships' interiors were designed by Richmond International, who have worked on a number of great British hotels—including The Langham, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the Intercontinental Hotel London, and the Four Seasons Hampshire.
The ship has four swimming pools and an adults-only enclave called The Retreat. This is designed for ultimate relaxation with day beds, cabanas, and two hot tubs (supplements apply). There are three main dining rooms with menus that vary every day, and other options include a poolside grill, a pizzeria, and a "grab and go" eatery, which serves snacks, sandwiches, and salads.
On Gala nights, you'll be treated to a six-course menu created by Marco Pierre White. Speciality dining options include an Indian restaurant, a wine-and-tapas bar, and a fine-dining molecular gastronomy restaurant (fees apply).
There is also a cocktail lounge, a pub, and a wine bar. The ship's 936-seat theatre hosts fantastic live shows and musical performances, and there is also a ballroom, a late-night disco, a cinema, and a casino.
