Itinerary

  • Hamburg, Germany... is "one of the coolest cities on Earth" (Lonely Planet). There are hip bars and a thriving foodie scene. Browse trendy boutiques and devour sweets in a café in the Karolinenviertel neighbourhood. Or, take in panoramic city views from the wrap-around balcony at the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall.
  • Zeebrugge, Belgium... dock here for travel inland to Bruges (around 15 minutes' drive from the port). This picture-perfect Medieval city is often referred to as The Venice of the North. Wander cobbled streets and winding canals and take in quaint buildings along the river. You could sample one of 300 Belgian beers in the popular ’t Brugs Beertje pub.
  • Rotterdam, Netherlands... you could check out Dutch masterpieces in the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen. Admire the waterways, and perhaps take a scenic cruise. Amsterdam is under an hour away by train and is perfect for a day trip.
  • Le Havre, France... stick around the coast to explore the Musée des Beaux Arts and the D-Day beaches. Mont Saint-Michel and the Medieval town of Rouen are an hour's taxi ride away. You could plan a day trip to Paris, around 2 hours inland by car.
