Itinerary
Begin in Chicago at Warwick Allerton Hotel, 10 minutes' walk from the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. You'll then embark on a 2-night journey aboard the Empire Builder Amtrak train. Journey from Chicago to Seattle, admiring stunning landscapes as you travel.

Upon reaching Seattle, make your way to Crowne Plaza Seattle-Downtown. You can reach the famous Space Needle in 10 minutes by taxi.

It's then time to join Royal Princess. You'll call at:

  • Juneau... Alaska's capital really boomed when prospectors struck gold in the 1880s. It's often called the most beautiful state capital in the USA. The town centre is close enough to reach on foot—explore restaurants, galleries, and museums set against a backdrop of snowy mountains.
  • Skagway... has a prime position on the Alaskan frontier. The Yukon Route Railway originally connected it to the goldfields of the Klondike. In the older part of town, 100 buildings remain from the 1800s Gold Rush. There's even a bona fide 125-year-old saloon, now restored as a museum.
  • Glacier Bay... is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its exceptional natural beauty and diverse wildlife. The national park is home to major glaciers, including Margerie Glacier and Johns Hopkins Glacier.
  • Ketchikan... the town's name means "thundering wings of an eagle" in Tlingit. It is known for its indigenous Haida and Tlingit heritage. The Misty Fiords wilderness area is around 40 miles east of town.
  • Victoria... this is Canada's most historic city. Often, ships are welcomed by Tartan-clad bagpipers. The cobbled streets and Victorian streetlamps might remind you of Edinburgh.

Finally, sail back to Seattle to catch your flight back to the UK.
