Best friends James Watt and Martin Dickie founded BrewDog in 2007 in northeast Scotland as a result of their shared passion for great craft beer. They wanted to revolutionise the industry and, with it, the culture of beer drinking in Britain. After more than a decade in business, BrewDog is now the fastest-growing food and drink company in the UK. BrewDog is also an incredibly popular and immediately identifiable brand, with a great line of merchandise thanks to its undeniably cool branding.
The company has locations across the world, including breweries, bars, and even hotels where customers can sample ales in a tasting experience, go to beer school, or just catch up with friends over a pint.
The beer that kicked off the whole BrewDog movement was its Punk IPA, which has now been reimagined in an alcohol-free version, too. Punk AF is BrewDog's latest release and joins Nanny State, Raspberry Blitz, and Vagabond in the no-alcohol and "free from" Tuned range.
Along with Punk IPA, BrewDog's Headliners range includes these other craft stars:
- Dead Pony Club — a US-style hoppy ale
- Indie — an easy-going pale ale
- Lost Lager — a dry-hopped pilsner
- Quench Quake — a grapefruit and tangerine sour
- Zombie Cake — a praline chocolate porter
- Clockwork Tangerine — a tangy IPA
That's far from all that BrewDog has to offer, however. The Amplified range offers even more choice, including the flavourful Cocoa Psycho and Elvis Juice beers.
The Seasonal range, as the name suggests, offers beers that fit the time of year. But if you're a fan of one in particular, don't worry — they're available all year round. You may well have seen beers such as Instamatic and Cybernaut on sale from this range.
What to expect from your BrewDog tasting experience
When you arrive at one of BrewDog's locations, you'll be taken through a 90-minute tutored beer-tasting experience by a knowledgeable BrewDog expert, sampling five 1/3 pints of craft beer per person, along with delicious cheese pairings.
These Brewdog tasting experiences are available well into the new year, so you can extend the Christmas festivities in style.
