The 5 Destinations for Wow Deals in 2016

23 Nov 2015

Savvy travellers rejoice – as 2016 approaches and you start planning your travels for the months ahead, we’ve come up with a list of destinations we predict will be hot for deals in the new year.

Travelzoo’s 2016 Wow Deal Destinations is not just a “best-of” or “must-see” round-up. This list is the product of hours of debate among our deal experts, who have drawn on their extensive experience to pinpoint the places they believe will offer great value in the new year. Consider this your “great deal bucket list”.

Canada | Israel | South Africa | Peru | The Seychelles

Two main themes have influenced our decision-making this year – new flight routes and/or fantastic exchange rates.

1) New flight routes Three out of our five predictions are based on the introduction of new flights, all with competitive introductory rates. Canada, Israel and Peru will all get additional routes from the UK, giving passengers a new reason to travel. Canada is perhaps the best example, with WestJet’s budget flights launching in May.

2) Great currency exchange rates and value for money South Africa and Canada both represent great value for money due to current exchange rates. The rand has hit an all-time low, meaning you'll have more money to spend. It's a similar story with Canada - with the savings you’ll make on your flight, plus the excellent exchange rate, this destination is set to become much more affordable next year. The Seychelles regularly features on jet-setters' wish-lists, but these beautiful islands are often thought of as being too expensive for most people. However, the tourism board has been busy rebranding the destination as Affordable Seychelles in 2015 and we expect to see some excellent deals in the near future – don’t write this one off your list just yet!

Bargain flight prices and a great exchange rate make Canada doubly affordable for 2016.

Eilat: the Red Sea resort to discover before everyone else does.

South Africa

With the pound so strong against the rand, UK travellers can get more for their money in SA than ever before. Go before anything changes!

British Airways’ new flight route has put Lima back on the map for the first time since 1982.

The Seychelles

Don't assume this idyllic destination is out of your price range!
