Unwind in style: our top spa picks for 2017

23 Jan 2017

A whole new year deserves a whole new you - and where better to recharge your batteries than in one of the best spas the country has to offer?

We’ve searched through the very best spas in each region, including spas with the highest-rated 4- and 5-bubble facilities, luxurious new venues and spas in incredible, not-to-be-missed settings.

We reckon these spas have firmly earned the right to be on your radar this 2017, so take your pick, and get ready to bliss-out.

So, will it be lakeside mansion or coastal infinity pool? Choices, choices…

Spa Deals in the North

If you’re looking for a luxurious spa day in the North of England or North Wales, there are plenty of top-rated venues to choose from, with pamper packages at up to 55% off.

If a spectacular setting is your bag, look no further than Waterton Park Hotel, near Wakefield (pictured). Who could argue with that 26-acre lakeside setting? Certainly not The AA Hotel Guide 2017 anyway, which calls it “truly idyllic”. For £49, you can visit the newly built spa at this Georgian mansion and get 50 minutes of treatment and all-day access to the leisure facilities for 51% less than it would normally cost.

We’ve also picked a 5-bubble Liverpool city-centre spa; one of the Top 10 Spa Hotels in Wales and a spa day with views of the Anglesey coast.

Spa Deals in the Southwest

The Southwest and South Wales area is awash with excellent spas, including The Carbis Bay Hotel (pictured above & main image): a seaside venue which has been awarded the maximum 5-bubble rating for its facilities by The Good Spa Guide. For £49, you can get all-day access to the facilities - including an outdoor sauna pod and a sea-view relaxation lounge - plus a massage or facial and a glass of bubbly.

Elsewhere in the region, there’s a 4-bubble vaulted spa in the Cotswolds, which Cosmopolitan rates as top notch”, a Malvern spa day with use of “heavenly” facilities and a 4-star Carmarthenshire spa day with afternoon tea.

Spa Deals in London & the Southeast

In London and the Southeast, you can escape the chaos of everyday life in both countryside and city-centre retreats. The Times describes New Park Manor Hotel & Spa (pictured) as an “elegant haven” in the heart of the New Forest, and it’s easy to see why. The spa’s equipped with a hydrotherapy and spa pool, an outdoor hot tub and a swimming pool with views across the hotel’s forest setting. For £69, you can use the facilities all day, plus you’ll get 60 minutes of treatment time and a cream tea.

We’ve also picked a Surrey spa with a 25-metre pool, a salt room and an ice chute, a Suffolk spa day complete with a timber-framed pool room and a “stylish” spa in Maidenhead with extensive facilities and “attractive” grounds.
