The Grand Brighton
Location: Right on the seafront, between the two piers

Best for… a special occasion. As the name suggests, this stately Victorian property evokes the splendour of bygone age. With its 2-AA-Rosette restaurant (which does a highly rated afternoon tea), it’s just the place to take someone you really want to impress.

Style: This boutique property has plenty to recommend it – the location for a start, which puts you right on the beach and just a few minutes from the trendy Lanes shopping area. It’s also home to Brighton’s best restaurant, according to Lonely Planet.
Best for… a romantic break. It has free-standing bath tubs in all but one of the 20 rooms and as you can see from the picture, incredible views over Brighton beach and the pier. Travelzoo-exclusive extras include a box of deluxe chocolates.

Blanch House
Location: On Atlingworth Street, which runs straight down to the beach near Brighton Pier
Style: This 4-storey townhouse is tucked away on a quiet street in the central Kemp Town area of Brighton. Previous guests include Noel Gallagher and Gwyneth Paltrow, both of whom presumably enjoyed the individually decorated rooms, premium location and original paintings by local artists.
Best for… boutique styling in a traditional Georgian setting. Rooms all have individual themes (one has a Moroccan riad-inspired design, another has a Perrier-Jouët theme) and for a little more luxury, there are three Feature Rooms with sea views and roll-top baths.

myHotel Brighton
Location: in the buzzing area between the trendy North Laine shopping district and the Royal Pavilion
Style: This property has a well-earned reputation for its uber-cool interior. It’s a place of curved walls inset with crystals, space-age white cocoons with bright splashes of colour, and a penthouse with its own 300-year-old carousel horse The rooms, which are spread across three colour-themed floors, are quirky and individually styled – think crystal light displays and geometric artwork.
Best for… foodies. On-site restaurant Chilli Pickle has two AA Rosettes and is consistently listed among the top 100 restaurants in the UK at the National Restaurant Awards. There's also a stylish cocktail bar and a Small Batch Coffee café with its own brew bar and micro roaster.
