Malaysia: Tea Plantations, Blissed-Out Beaches & Hot Deals

16 Nov 2016

The bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, the dreamy beaches of Langkawi, the colonial towns such as Malacca, the rolling tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands are many reasons to visit Malaysia. And, in 2017, there’s another one: deals.

Why go in 2017

Prices for 2017 flights to Kuala Lumpur and Penang have been some of the cheapest we have ever seen for Southeast Asia. Recently, we've also published several Malaysia holidays for under £500 per person, which in some cases is even cheaper than the flights alone.

Insider tips

Though less famous than that of its Southeast Asian neighbours, Malaysian food is delicious. Favourites include Nasi Dagang (coconut rice with fish curry), banana leaf rice, satay and wok-fried Hokkien mee (yellow noodles).

When to go

January and February are popular months to visit. This when lots of festivals take place, including Chinese New Year.
