Excellent Hotel however the garden room they gave us was far too small.
I would estimate that the room itself was about 3x3 metres and was taken up with a large bed, hand built removal wardrobe, table chairs and wall tv.
The bathroom also was very small and it was almost impossible to get into the corner shower unit.
We did mention this at reception.

The location is beautiful and there are loads of areas to stroll and have some food and drinks. The food was excellent in the hotel, but it was only ruined by the fact that the ambiance in the room was subpar.

It's the room, it was high up with exposed beams and very small. Although I informed the front desk that I am not happy with the room, as this is smaller than I have at home, and with the exposed beams, which my husband and I hit our heads a few times. Also, you need to bend significantly to get to the other side of the bed. I am only 152 cm in height, and it was not comfortable to get in and out.

The hotel was very clean and well positioned. The room was clean however it was very small. The menu was rather limited and the same on both nights of our stay. It was also different from the usual menu due to the fact that we booked through Travelzoo.

Had a fabulous time at The Relais. Great location, overlooking the river and a few steps up the road and you were in town. The bar area is cosy and the guy who made the cocktails really seems to know what he is doing. The food was great and all the staff were so warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Fresh crisp white sheets, plenty of high quality tea and coffee, water was always replaced each day. Excellent wine list. We felt we had a very personal service from beginning to end.

Just a few comments regarding Room 107. While we enjoyed the views and the comfort of the bed there were a few problems. There needs to be a nightlight in the small hallway that can be lit at night separate from the main light in the bedroom. We left the bathroom light on all night but the striped pattern of the carpet makes the two steps down from the bathroom invisible. Also there needs to be a better handrail on these steps. Another slight annoyance was that the only way to use a hairdryer near the mirror was to crawl under the small table in the corner of the room and unplug either the kettle or the lamp, not an easy process. There was also an irritating rattle from the strange wardrobe when you walked across the room.

We were walking the Thames path and the Relais was an excellent base. We had delicious meals and a really comfortable bed. The only reason I marked down the room was because there was a low beam next to the bed - this is unsurprising as it is an old building, but could be a problem if you were over 6 feet tall.

No lift to very top of hotel several floors up; it only went half way. Lighting in the bathroom was very dim we had to leave door open to see. Tea & coffee wasn’t replenished. Dirty plate left in bedroom. The menu was the most disappointing thing. Very poor choice & only two options on set menu (a sausage roll with chips and falafel dish with Green salad), making one choose from the very highly priced

This is an absolutely lovely hotel, with a great bar, restaurant and outside common terrace area. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. The food was great with a wide range of options. Robe and slippers in the room was a nice touch, although slippers not really needed as our room had a lovely thick carpet anyway. All round, a wonderful hotel.

Our room was very comfortable and clean with beautiful decor.
The quality, standard and presentation of our meals was first class. Very professional and attentive restaurant staff.
On arrival we were greeted at the reception desk by Sahara, she was extremely helpful, and demonstrates a calm and courteous manner, a great first impression.
