"The staff as always help to make any stay a pleasure. The evening meal was very good, and the breakfast was spot on. Looking forward to going back again soon and fully intend to make that most of the leisure facilities again."
The Metropole Hotel has been run by the same family for over 100 years.
The AA praises the property's "elegant interior" and range of spa facilities. These include a pool, a sauna, and a steam room (supplements apply for treatments).

From the moment we entered the hotel, beautiful old world charm, hospitality at its best. Friendly reception, went above & beyond for my request for a bath. Our room was outstanding, comfortable, everything you could possibly need & more. We visited the pool, again a lovely greeting by the young man there, towels & everything explained to use, lovely couple of hours spent relaxing, spotlessly clean & well cared for. Evening meal, fabulous!! Service second to none...All staff feel highly trained, but still have that friendly approach too, which just adds to the enjoyment of the stay.
Breakfast again, met with a lovely lady, everything explyti us & you could choose where to sit, which is what I like, breakfast excellent, plenty of choice.
Got to say our stay was excellent, made even more special by the duty manager Sam, his love of the hotel, shines through, his dedication is abundant , he seems to be everywhere, from front desk on arrival, to seating us in the restaurant on the evening & then next morning, he was still there, what a fantastic guy!! So warm & friendly, seems the staff love him too.
I love this hotel & everything about it, lots to do, beautiful walks, we visited the three dams, overall a great stay, so much so we booked a return visit early next year...thank you so much

Perfectly placed for scenic trips in every direction, and for wandering round town viewing parks and architecture. Positioned in centre of town, but our room was mid hotel, so quiet. Loads of parking at rear. A large historic building, and a bit jaded, but very comfortable. Staff were excellent, particularly bar/restaurant staff at front who very efficiently doubled up on both roles! Food very good.

Wonderful hotel with great staff, food, car parking and, in Llandrindod Wells, a great setting.
Really good to look around the town but importantly the surrounding countryside (including the reservoir in your picture!).
We'll be back.

The friendly greeting when we arrived set the tone for our three night stay. All staff efficient and friendly.
The dinner menu changes daily, with a choice of four items for each course, plus a few other items that are available at a supplement.
Other Comments
The pool area is fine for people who aren't mobility impaired, but I had problems getting in, and particularly out of jacuzzi. I think mangement should consider installing a second grab rail and extending the exisiting one. Perhaps it would be a good idea to discuss options with a mobility impaired person.

The only thing that was a disappointment was the evening meal. It's normally pretty good but I don't class Roast Pork as suitable for dinner. Sunday lunch , yes but not dinner. And it wasn't very good either. The fruit salad was also very disappointing, lack of colour and flavour. Please bring back your six course tasting menu, it was fabulous. Also they used to charge £10pp for an upgraded room, now it's £20pp which is ridiculous as even their larger rooms don't warrant £165 per night.

Breakfast was very nice, good choices and fresh.
Room and bedding were clean but lacked attention to detail, paintwork, shower screen streaky.

Noisy room, machinery outside bedroom window, duct or extractor switching on and off regularly throughout the night. evening food quite disappointing, pre prepared pre packed boiled potatoes, steak overcooked and fatty. No specific gluten free menu and very little choice for gluten free on the menu.
