The hotel is in the Confluence district where the rivers Rhône and Saône meet. It's well connected by bus and metro to explore Lyon's main sites.
Wellness facilities in the hotel include a Jacuzzi and a hammam. A selection of massages are offered for a supplement.
19th-century French gastronome Maurice-Edmond Sailland recognised Lyon as the world capital of gastronomy. Celebrated chef Paul Bocuse further cemented its culinary reputation. The Times recommends the city's three food markets—Halles Paul Bocuse, Quai St-Antoine, and Croix-Rousse.
Take a funicular ride up the hill to visit the Basilica Notre Dame de Fourvière. It offers panoramic views from its terrace.
Film buffs would enjoy a visit to the Lumière Museum. The Art Nouveau home is dedicated to pioneer filmmakers August and Louis Lumière.
You could travel from London by rail. Take the Eurostar to Paris or Lille—we found tickets from £78 return. Then, board a regional train onwards to Lyon (from Lille, it takes around 3.5 hours and costs from £35 return).
