Why We Love This Deal
The Rising Sun is a 14th-century thatched inn overlooking Lynmouth harbour. With both coast and moor available from its doorstep, it's one of Devon's most picturesque locations. A 2-night stay is £179. This saves 27–37% against the hotel's direct flexible rates.
What's Included
- Valid for Sunday–Wednesday check-ins 1 May–11 June, 2026
- A 2-night stay for two people in a Standard Double room, with breakfast
- 10% off all dining reservations when booked in advance
- It's £265 for a 3-night stay (Sunday–Tuesday check-ins)
- It's £20 more per night for a Seaview Double room. Or £50 more per night for The Cottage, which features a double bedroom, sitting room, and private garden. All room types are subject to availability and supplements are payable direct to the hotel
More Reasons to Go
- Inside, The Rising Sun is "wonderfully rickety and rambling, with a fire-lit bar, cask ales, good food, and genial locals" (The Daily Telegraph).
- Romantic poet, Percy Shelley honeymooned in the pub's cottage in 1812.
- The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is less than a minutes' walk from the inn's front door. It's unique for being the world's highest and steepest, water-powered, funicular railway. Hop aboard to climb to the cliff-top village of Lynton.
- The South West Coast Path passes through Lynmouth. To the west is the Valley of Rocks and a 40-minute hike. Countryfile named this dramatic coastal expanse one of the best places in the UK to take a spring walk.
- This coastal North Devon hotel sits in the heart of Exmoor National Park.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable rooms, small double or queen bed just big enough for us, firm but good , pillows were very good , too thick and hard , we asked if they had thinner softer pillows and two more were provided but were exactly the same as the others. We didn't sleep well as a result. A good tea tray, choice of teas and biscuits but only one type of coffee which wasn't great . The only other suggestion towel rails would be helpful

We had a good couple of days. Weather good. View from room great. Bed comfy. Staff pleasant. Food ok but not as good as we expected having read reviews about a Michelin star chef that no longer works there.

Staff very helpful. Rooms small but very comfortable. Plenty of choice for food, though breakfast could maybe include some pastries.

Our seaview room was excellent. Our friends room had a free standing bath with shower attachment.
Not suitable for someone who had previously had a hip replacement. Only one other room available (sea view) at £20 per night).

A great location and very friendly and helpful members of staff. I didn’t use my car at all during stay as enjoyed the coastal paths.
