We stayed many times under the previous owner. The rooms were becoming. urgently in need of refurbishment but had a quirky charm. The new owners have embarked on on a process of improvement, starting with the public areas. What was outstanding in the past was the range of choices and excellence of the fine dining dinner offer. While dinner on this visit was fine,it is clear that they are going for a more limited and conventional model. However the price of fairly ordinary desserts at £12.50 did seem excessive.

Hotel is in a very quiet position out in the country just as we like. All staff were most pleasant, couldn't do enough for you. The communal areas have all been renovated to a very high standard, just lovely and I understand bedrooms are next to be carried out. Will return if in area.

This hotel is a real gem. The new owners have refurbished the ground floor rooms, which are warm and welcoming. Next on their agenda are the bedrooms.
Our room was large, obviously needing updating, but was still very comfortable and we slept well in the large bed.
Our evening meal was delicious and the breakfast was plentiful and beautifully cooked. Kippers, smoked salmon as well as a full English was on offer, with cereal, yoghurts, fruit, meat and pastries on the 'help yourself' table.
The staff were cheerful and obliging.
Our one night stay was not only enjoyable but extremely good value for money and we would love to return.

Excellent hotel. The staff are helpful, polite and friendly. Food was superb and the hotel is set in its own grounds. There are some country walks and a swimming pool, which was not open at the time of my visit. I would strongly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a peaceful stress free break.

Patrons should take their car as the hotel is somewhat remote and there are no bus links to surrounding towns but there is ample parking at the hotel.

A group of six of us had a lovely opportunity to meet up at the Corse Lawn House Hotel. We were informed that the hotel had been recently taken over and they are in the process of upgrading/redecorating all the rooms. The public areas had already been done and were lovely. The bedrooms large with very comfortable beds, a coffee machine, hairdryer, bottled water and biscuits.

All the staff and the owner are lovely and friendly, they really want you to enjoy your stay with them. The food was excellent, Pigeon and Stone Bass were main course dinner highlights for us. Breakfast was all table service with proper freshly squeezed orange juice, leaf tea and perfect poached eggs with haddock. The bedrooms are dated but the service and food put many hotels in the limelight!

Unfortunately I ended up in the Minor Injuries Unit on the morning we were due to go to this hotel, which was also my wife's birthday (present). I had damaged my knee and was unable to walk unaided. After x-rays I was advised not to travel. I had already emailed the hotel to inform them, and I rang them as soon as I was able to (10.30 to 11am). I informed them what had happened, and asked about rearranging the booking (not cancelling it), for a couple of weeks hence, when I/we would be able to attend. They simply refused as it was less than 48 hours notice, which clearly I could not have done as there was not a problem then. I did mention it was my wife's birthday, but there was no flexibility / empathy shown - just that "it is policy". Really really disappointed with the attitude shown

We had a great welcome on arrival and taken to our very large ground floor room. This hotel has atmosphere, it has period charm and is quirky. Staff were always very helpful. The bar had a good range of drinks and the restaurant food was excellent. The unheated swimming pool was a challenge but refreshing. A second visit is on the cards.

staff were super helpful in providing us with a twin bedded room on the ground floor - really lovely large room with everything one could possibly need for a short stay. Nice little extra touches (fresh milk and bottled water in a small fridge).
We combined 2 vouchers to have a 3 night stay and it is one of the best Travelzoo offers we have had.
Choices at breakfast and dinner were good and it was nice to have everything served to table.
