Why We Love This Deal
Saddle up for a 3-night adventure at this historic Arizona ranch. Past Travelzoo guests rave about Rancho de la Osa, calling it the "perfect combination of well-run and low-key" with its laid-back Western vibe and "exceptional staff" that made members "feel like family." Set on nearly 600 acres in the Sonoran Desert bordering Mexico, its remote location makes for a tranquil retreat with plenty of wide-open space to go horseback riding, hiking and UTV off-roading.
A 3-night stay at a similar dude ranch in the area could go for well over $2000. But you can save up to 45% with this offer that includes all meals, plus one daily activity per person.

Great staff, unique experience, beautiful area, and good meals. The rooms are rustic and the activities a bit tame but still enjoyable. With the right expectations and attitude this is a really fun few days and an awesome way to get away from it all!

We loved it. Very laid back. Staff was friendly. The cooks went the extra mile to cook vegetarian and Naomi made me a wonderful birthday cake. We loved the ranch cat , Gus as well. The horseback rides were fun through beautiful desert land. The only thing spoiling the view was the border wall. The wranglers Zac and Lock did a great job. We would.go back. Loved the history of the ranch.

It would be nice if you had more evening events . It also would be nice to have a little.more history of the ranch preserved there for us to read about or an evening where someone shares the stories of the ranch history. Hopefully, you get the bats taken care of. They caused quite a stir in our room.

We really enjoyed our three nights at Rancho de la Osa. Staff members did a very good job taking care of our needs. The food and activities were good. We wanted to get our second slow trail ride on Thursday but unfortunately there was not room for us. The e-bike was great but could have been a little longer and the archery needs to be upgraded with better equipment; instructor was good. Overall, it was a memorable experience and we would like to do it again in AZ and/or Montana. Thanks to all for the friendly and personable service.

Carly, Locke, Zac - all the wranglers, staff, and chef were excellent. Seemed like they were everywhere with anything we wanted or needed. They were always cheerful, smiling and happy to see us! Rooms were great with "Western" feel. Community meals, and appetizers each night at the "honesty" bar were a treat. We had burgers in the wide open, excellent and filling meals inside, and campfires for 30 at night. Animals were well cared for, e-bikes, trail rides, motorized expeditions and just a whole lot of peace and quiet! Go where and when you wanted, Overall, even after many international trips, this is one so close to home, yet so isolated and tranquil. Perfect for families, couples, or groups. Highly recommend the staff - they were awsome!

Accommodating is the best word to describe the Rancho de la Osa experience. The staff was friendly and very nicely accommodated any special needs any guest might have. Having meals family-style with other guests enabled many interesting conversations. The wranglers did a fabulous job of matching us with horses and guiding us on rides where they were able to teach us to ride better and explain our surroundings.

Magical! We loved this place and this experience. The horseback riding was the best, made better by great wranglers. Hadn't been on a horse in nearly 30 years--they made me feel comfortable and confident. Met and connected with some really nice people. Food was great. Loved not having to make decisions about where, when, or even what to eat!

They are apparently in the process of making some improvements to the property, including bringing back some evening entertainment and/or activities (karaoke?), which should be fun.

Rustic comfort. If you are looking for luxury accommodations this may not be the place for you. We found this historic ranch to be comfortable with good food, great staff and enjoyable rides. The honor system cantina was relatively well stocked. While we did not use the pool, it was heated, clean and relaxing to laze around. Hearing yipping coyotes at night and viewing twinkling stars in the velvet sky were bonuses. If you like remote, peaceful guest ranches this one is worth a visit.

If you love the outdoors, outdoor activities, FABULOUS food, genuinely kind, gracious and accommodating staff, meeting new people, staying in charming rooms with real wood fireplaces and supremely comfortable beds, this is the place for you. The scenery while riding either a horse or an E-bike is breathtaking. Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge surrounds the ranch. The air is clean and it’s soothingly quiet.
We’ve been here twice now and plan to return.

It was nice. When we got there we had to pay $268 extra for taxes and a service charge. Checkin was at 2:00 and when we got there the daily activities were done. We got three activities each, one per night. The way it worked out we had to go horseback riding twice one day because the other activity we wanted was not daily.
Our room was fairly nice. We had blow dryer, shampoos, robes and they provided firewood. We could not get wifi in our room and the sinks faucet sprayed us every time we opened faucet. Hot water a little iffy.
Food is served family style at a large table and was ok. At one point they ran out of propane and had issues with the grills. At 5:00 there is a happy hour and they provide an appetizer that changed daily.

Bathroom in our room could use some help. Leaking toilet and rickety shower. Cantina was fun but could use some repairs to make it better. I was under the impression that there were ATV trips when in fact it was a utility vehicle that was used around the facility, the e-bikes needed help as well. All in all the horse trips were our main objective and they did not disappoint.

Rancho de la Osa is quaint and rustic, enough to be comfortable without being extravagant. The staff are friendly, down-to-earth, seem genuinely interested in engaging with you, and were equally attentive to adult visitors as they were my 15 year-old. We enjoyed looking for wildlife, riding and taking in the scenery, playing chess in the cantina before dinner, and the absolutely delicious food (thanks, Chase!)

They are just reopening so there were some hiccups to work out for sure. When we booked the room we asked questions about how full they were for our weekend and if we should pre-book our activities. We were told to wait until we got there as activities were booked the day before. During check in we tried to book the activities we wanted to do, which were already paid for as part of our package, and were immediately told everything we wanted to do was booked up because they were at full capacity. They said they would "work something out" and they really did try but we never got to do the UTV ride and the skeet shooting that was "fit in" for us was not set up properly so was impossible to enjoy. The staff was great and made every effort to make sure we were happy, they just were not prepared and were way under staffed for how many reservations they accepted for that weekend. They did make an adjustment without hesitation for the "fit in" activity that didn't work well, they just need to have more available when expecting so many people. The food was ok and we were able to speak with the chef directly about any special requests. The happy hour food was the best.

Although we really appreciated the historical charm of the place our room smelled of urine and we had rat droppings every morning in our bathroom.
