We’ve stayed at a lot places on HHI over the years. For the rate we secured with TravelZoo, this was worth it compared to others on the Island.

The turtles in the turtle pond should be able to sun themselves. I would suggest putting large flat rocks in the center of the pond for them to climb on to. That way they would be safe from little hands and be able to get some sun.

We had a wonderful Anniversary weekend at the Sonesta. The staff is friendly. The resort is well designed. Beach access is easy and leads to a beautiful, quiet beach. The room was comfortable. It was very loud in most of the public/gathering spaces, but our room was quiet. It's a family and pet friendly resort. Next time, we will bring our children.

This was our first time at Sonesta. Great hotel. The rooms had been recently remodeled and were excellent and they were very spacious. I was impressed. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. We ate the pizza from the Patio, and it was amazing. Great bar drinks. I would definitely return to Sonesta.

Overall location is great & hotel is clean & furnishings are new. Some construction going on around the Hotel/Pool area. A large Conference was going on both when we arrived Friday, then a new one checked in Sunday. That impacted our Sunday Housekeeping as we never received cleaning service & had to call for clean towels twice around 5PM before heading out for dinner. When we got back from dinner, another set of clean towels were in the room, but it didn't get cleaned/made up that day likely due to effort required to accommodate the influx of conference guests. $400/night seems a little pricey just for the room ,but that may be the going rate in Hilton Head?
