We enjoyed our stay very much. I booked two nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. I was very interested in booking this hotel because it was noted as pet friendly and advertised a dog bed and treats for my dog. I was disappointed, however, because those pet amenities were not offered to us. My credit card had a hold placed on it for $200 more than the room rate I was expecting. When I called the hotel after my stay, I was informed that this is the policy. I also inquired about the pet amenities and was told I needed to specifically request those items. Because I was not an IHG member, I also realized there were welcome bags for members that I wasn't eligible for.

We loved our stay at the Kimpton Taconic. Very warm and inviting place. Only suggestion is to keep your restsurant/bar open throughout the day and to offer more common area seating options. The hotel was full but a lot of people just looking for space to hang out in and something to eat/drink on property. Staff were very pleasant and friendly… Celeste at the front desk was great! All in all a very nice weekend getaway. Oh, and we LOVE that it is such a dog friendly hotel… so cute to see them all and socially mingle with the owners!

This hotel surprised us - we've been to Manchester VT quite a few times, stayed at both the Equinox and Reluctant Panther numerous times (via Travelzoo several times ) drove past this wonderful place often, commenting "I wonder how that is" We found out - it's very very nice - staff is fantastic, ambience is great - ONLY DOWNSIDE -- pooch friendly - which isn't usually a problem - until I walked into the lobby area and there was a dog (small, but still....) sitting on the couch with it's owner. The desk attendant said they have occasional problems like that - but certainly do not promote it. I would fault the owner, not the hotel, but if you have allergies, that could be a big problem. Aside from that incident, the experience was wonderful.

We just wrapped up a 3-day staycation at this iconic Manchester hotel and it was such a treat! The place is so quaint and welcoming — dog-friendly (lots of pups 🐾) — and every evening they host a Social Hour with complimentary wine and beer on the porch. Such a lovely way to unwind!
Breakfast and dinner at the Copper Grouse were delicious, and we even enjoyed room service one night — the food was excellent across the board. The outdoor pool was amazing, and in the evenings the fire pit made for such a cozy spot to relax. We also got complimentary tickets to Hildene, the Lincoln family home, which was a fascinating and informative tour. On top of that, we did some shopping, checked out art galleries, strolled the sidewalks, and ate at the local pub.
We loved it so much we’re planning to make this an annual thing. It’s the perfect spot to bring family, kids, and dogs. There’s plenty on the itinerary we didn’t even get to, and even if you just want to relax, there’s a nearby wellness spa for that too. Parking was easy and plentiful, which made the whole stay even more stress-free.

We had a grand time at the Klimpton Taconic Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating The location was perfect for experiencing Manchester. Several excellent restaurants within walking distance. Complimentary cucumber or lemon water was welcomed on very hot days. Also, complimentary were afternoon snacks, and a social hour. We golfed at Equinox and spent a morning at Hildene House which was included in our package. The hotel is very dog friendly. We look forward to returning. Highly Recommend.

Excellent service at the bar! The town is cute there’s a small shopping outlet but it’s kind of spread out. Mulligans Tavern across the street. Beautiful mountain scenery. We took a walk around Equinox pond with our dogs, which has a few different walking trails. Cute little town with a bunch of small restaurants and shops. Breakfast at the Little Rooster Cafe was awesome!!!

I booked the Kimpton Taconic for a 2-day getaway. I love the Kimpton hotels so I knew to expect a B&B vibe with the amenities of a hotel. Lots of shopping and dining options nearby but no bell hop service. My room was clean, large, well appointed with a fireplace, which I was excited about. To my disappointment, the fireplace didn’t work, which was a huge let down, since my plans were to cozy up inside reading and resting. The staff was polite but they and tried putting me in another room with a fireplace but that was not working either. Luckily, there was a huge wood-burning fireplace in the lobby, which I stalked until I was able to get a coveted seat. I would have had a nicer time if the fireplace in my room was working. I left feeling like I didn’t get what I paid for.
