The equinox was great. Upscale and historical. Beautiful scenery. One place they could improve is the activities. They have cornhole but half the bags are empty. Disc golf is just 2 baskets back and forth. More chairs in the courtyard area would be nice too. A little more TLC and it would be great.

The desserts were excellent. The location. The breakfasts were very good. But there again, the staff was miserable. The Spa staff was very nice and accomidating. I've never written a bad review before about Travel Zoo picks. Unfortunately this time I had to.
Other Comments
Carpeting in room was filthy. Shower setup in ADA room is bad - slippery floors. Faucet leaked when turned on. Mattress was way too soft and head tilted downward. The waitstaff was miserable except for the hostess. They all had a bad attitude, thought they were doing you a favor by taking your order. None of them smiled. Food was mediocre.

Really enjoyed my massage, all the staff at the hotel and spa were outstanding. The pool was fantastic . The hotel is old but well maintained.

The bed I had was broken, I had to sleep crossways to be comfortable. I would really have preferred a coffeepot in the room, getting dressed and having to go to the lobby for coffee was a royal pain. In order for the bathroom door to stay open you had to prop it with a trashcan and the trashcans were way too small.

We have been to the Equinox before and loved it. This time, though we still recommend it, we encountered a number of SNAFUs. Everything was lovely to start, and they brought a refrigerator I thought I had requested but maybe did not, in a timely fashion. 1/2 hour later it was not cooling off but maintenance came and it was the electrical socket. Easy fix. Then, it turned out our room's AC was not working and it was 77 degrees in there. Engineering came but wasn't able to fix it. We moved rooms late that first night after returning from dinner. We did it all ourselves which wasn't so bad except we were under the impression someone would help us (the fridge was rather large). Mind you, everyone on staff was thorough helpful and gracious but things weren't all working right. Our next room was lovely and spacious, but again, it was hot and no AC (though not as hot as the first) so we just dealt with it.
Our experience at the Chop House for dinner the second night was great. We were one of two tables at that hour and our Caribbean waitress was so warm and friendly and the chef came out to speak with us. But breakfast the next morning, when we had to leave, was a bit of a fiasco. It took a very long time for the food to come, and then we couldn't find anyone to ask fo the check. After maybe 20 minutes, my husband finally went right by the kitchen and found someone, but the computer was down and it took another 1/2 hour or so to get and pay the check. We were late to pick up our son so it was problematic. Again, everyone was very lovely but it didn't work out well.
I very much enjoyed working out at the gym and particularly using the lovely yoga room to do my own class. But the gym itself was super hot with no ventilation to speak of. I asked it they could turn on a fan or something but that wasn't possible. Again, the spa person was 100% gracious but just couldn't do anything about it. The yoga room had two standing fans so that was fine.
We would definitely return, since everyone meant so well and was so gracious, but there were definitely some kinks to be addressed.

Deeply off-season, so few guests while there. Pool is great…looks like a 25m indoor pool. Water 84, indoor temp 90+. Spa good, not great. Food service ok, but pricy for what you get. Staff nice enough. Need to have golf discounts, especially in off-seaso. Course is lovely. TV cable…some version of direct tv, stinks.Equinox has more competition now in a town with half the shopping it had pre-COVID, so it needs to leverage its golf course. Decor/furniture has been updated, but it needs some operational pizzazz.

Lovely hotel, and great spa. The rooms are comftorable , except the walls are thin, you can hear conversations of guests staying in next room. And unfortunately there was a baby that cried a lot and that was disturbing our sleep frequently!

Loved it. They had everything at the hotel. restaurant, tavern, music, spa, pool and gym. Plus they had all day coffee, tea, and special things like hot apple cider, and cake one day. It is very family oriented and plenty of spaces for entertaining kids such as game room and library with a big table full of games. There were big fireplaces for hanging out and chilling. It was wonderful!!

It was home away from home. There were so many nooks and crannies in the hotel that it was fun for the kids to explore. The even had an arcade center with ping pong table. Their dining was wonderful and the spa and fitness center was really nice.

The food in the restaurant was atrocious. The pork chop arrived raw, yes raw not undercooked. The swordfish was so overcooked it was like eating a piece of sheetrock. The hotel was cold in the hallways. The floor in the bedroom was so uneven that it felt like you would fall into the sink. The heat shut off in our room during the night. It was incredibly confusing to find the elevators and our room because the site is so large and convoluted.
