Overview

With plenty of outdoor activities, an abundance of nearby hiking trails, plus a quaint small-town vibe (thanks to neighboring Petoskey), a trip to the Cottages at Bay Harbor is the perfect combination of relaxation and family fun. For day trips, guests are a 60- or 90-minute drive to two of Northern Michigan's most popular destinations, Traverse City and Mackinac Island.

Guests can choose from two- or three-bedroom lakeside cottages or a three-bedroom cottage that sits on the Crooked Tree Golf Club. All cottages come equipped with at least two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, fireplace and a patio or balcony. With plenty of room to sprawl out, the cottages are also an ideal option for extended stays.

The resort itself sits directly on Little Traverse Bay and boasts a bevy of year-round and seasonal activities ranging from a full-service spa and daily tea time to multiple golf courses and yachting excursions. There's also a heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Come fall, we recommend a drive up nearby Highway 119, also known as The Tunnel of Trees, “one of the state’s most iconic attractions” (MyNorth.com).

The cottage was really dirty. We cleaned it and had a great time. But it was pretty gross when we got there.

The cottage was really dirty. Look like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. There was a vacuum there but it don’t work. Many broken things in cottage(fridge shelve-oven handle real lose). We had a wonderful Easter there but we had to do lots of cleaning to feel comfortable and sanitize a bit. Also lots of cigarette butts all around. Pretty yucky! We will be back and not complaining but just some info of things that need to improve. We had a lovely Easter with our fully vaccinated family!! Thank you so much!!!

The property was very nice, clean, amenities were great, however, the picture shown made it appear as though the property was on the water - it is not. It is about a mile walking distance from the Inn, which is where the water is. Didn't even have a water view. Disappointing in that respect only.

This was a great experience for hosting a family get together for my son’s 2nd birthday and keeping Covid-19 social distancing guidelines. We haven’t been able to see our family in over a year due to Covid-19 restrictions. The Cottages at Bay Harbor allowed family members to come up and stay in their own cottage to keep with social distancing guidelines. The outdoor patio space gave us space to interact safely while masked and the proximity to Boyne Resorts allowed the family to spend time snowboarding, skiing and snow tubing safely. The kitchens were great because we went grocery shopping and we’re able to cook meals for everyone to enjoy. We loved our stay so much that we’re planning to make it an annual family tradition! The kids also really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and walking alongside Lake Michigan which was directly outside our lakeside cottage was a treat. Thank you Travelzoo for a great deal! This was the easiest birthday celebration to plan and this busy mom definitely enjoyed soaking in the large tub while her toddler spent time with his cousins outdoors.

We stayed at the Crooked Tree cottages for a long weekend. They offer plenty of space, a fas fireplace, and functional kitchen. They're a little bit worn out and could use a remodel but it was still very comfortable. We also enjoyed tea time at the Inn, along with free coffee at the cafe. The staff is excellent and provided consistently excellent service.

We love the Cottages at the Inn at Bay Harbor , this was our 3rd time staying. The cottages are spacious, very clean, have a fully stocked kitchen, and bedding / linens are very comfortable. I would highly recommend and will return again.

Had a few hiccups during our stay but was cared for by desk staff apologetically and graciously especially by Hunter one of the staff. Mistakes and mishaps happen but was treated with respect.

The Beds and pillows were great!but we found the Crooked tree cottage we rented was in need of some basic upkeep maintenance issues though. It Seemed a bit tired and neglected. Bad squeaks in floors the sliding doors didn’t shut so wind whistled through. We put a papertowel in it to stop the sound. The one Shower head was clogged and spraying out rather than down. The carpet and wood floors were approx 20 years old and needing to be replaced! It was spacious and worked for our family but could be improved aesthetically and with a few maintenance improvements.

We stayed in. Three bedroom cottage. This allowed us to play games together in the living area. The kitchen allowed us to bring some of our own food and order take out and enjoy our time together since restaurants are closed to indoor dining
