The hotel was great and had everything you need. There are also restaurants that are top rated close to the hotel. Only negative was the restaurant was closed for the BMW golf event in the evening that know one mentioned to us at checkin.

Relaxing Fourth of July celebration with hubby! Very quiet weekend as many stores and restaurants are closed both on Sundays and July 4th (Monday). We found free street parking close to the hotel for both Sunday and Monday (avoided hotel parking fee), and walked down Market Street towards the Riverfront. We noticed there were many security personnel patrolling the area, which provided a safe environment as we enjoyed our long walk while looking at the numerous historical buildings. Had dinner at Le Cavalier, located on-site, and so happy they were open on the Fourth of July as the food was delicious and surprisingly well priced for the quality of food served. My husband is a notoriously picky eater, and he found the food wonderfully prepared and enjoyed the experience. Btw, we stopped by Delaware Art Museum prior to checking in as it is free on Sundays. The De Art Museum and sculpture garden is a hidden gem! Thank you Travelzoo for offering the promo!

It is hard to complain about anything in this hotel, but there are two things. The exercise room does not have signs for people to clean the equipment after use, and there was a lot of this going on even as many others were cleaning correctly. Sunday went for a workout before leaving the property; The exercise room was not restocked with machine cleaning equipment, and no water or towels were available.

The hotel is Old School grandeur. At 100 years old it is well preserved and maintained but really needs some polish and renovations.
Staff is very accommodating and most pleasant. They, like the rest of the industry-are short staffed- so response time is not at its best.
Stayed in a beautiful king suite. The space has excellent bones, the bed was better than my own, truly exceptional, but the antique jetted tub sounded like a concrete jackhammer ripping up the highway. Lighting, marble and fixtures are authentic but time to put to rest.
Excellent restaurant and bar with great ambiance and exceptional service.
Overall, highly recommend a stay.

This is a grand and beautiful hotel. Unfortunately my room had many problems, to my total exhaustion. In the end the staff gave me discounts and did not charge for valet parking in order to excuse the issues. As I was staying for only one night, it was easier to just stop complaining.

The Hotel DuPont was excellent and more!! It was such a wonderful experience from check in to check out-- the staff on every level were so efficient and helpful-- and just made the whole experience even that much better! The Luxury King room we upgraded to was the best --one of the most beautiful and spacious rooms i have stayed in-- compared to other high end hotels - resort or other wise-- just the way the use of space with the TV-- to pivot from the sitting area to the bedroom area-- what a plus! and the great space in this room -- made you feel so at home-- loved it!! the dinner was excellent in the Le Cavalier-- and we had made a reservation - but went half hour earlier to take in a cocktail at the beautiful bar-- and what great bartenders they were -- attention to detail in every way! The only thing -- was a little on the slow side getting our dessert-- for some reason-- as it was a Monday night dinner - and there was a nice crowd there- and wanted an after dinner drink- but they did not have Amaretto or Baileys - so maybe just an inventory glitch--- but it was truly and elegant dining experience -- and the meals were delicious!

The hotel was a good experience, like going back in time to a more elegant place. The room was clean and confrontable. However, some of the things in the room needed small attention from maintenance.

The hotel was a good experience, like going back in time to a more elegant place. The room was clean and confrontable. However, some of the things in the room needed small attention from maintenance. The dimmer switch in the bathroom didn't work, so the bathroom was very dimly lit. I moved one of the chairs and the cabinet door fell off. They obviously knew it was broken but used the chair to hold it up. Kind of slopy maintenance, from a very nice hotel. The reservation included a bottle of wine and 7 macaroons. I had to ask at the front desk, and they gave me the wine, but the macaroons never showed up

The first room to which we were assigned had no functioning window covers. We requested to move, and staff were anxious to help and got us a much nicer room with working curtains. The hotel is currently being renovated so, for example, the in-house bar and coffee shop are not operating. However, the very nice and beautifully decorated restaurant is open and serving lovely meals and room service is also active.

The Valet service for the Hotel lost our car key! They say they will pay the replacement fee, but we'll see how that works out...I had a key to the car also, so we still could drive the car. A solo traveler might do well to bring an extra key. Note: this "service" cost $35 per night!

I am a Middle School teacher and I wanted to spend some time renewing my spirit over spring break. Well, I couldn't have chosen a better hotel! The front desk staff (Kara, Dennis, & Hannah) demonstrated superlative customer service skills and I had a lovely, relaxing visit. The Travelzoo deal included macaroons and a bottle of wine which added to my enjoyment. I also was able to utilize their top-notch fitness center.

Failed to provide bottle of wine at check in but eliminated valet parking charge to compensate.
No drinking glasses of any type in the room. Only one paper coffee cup. I notified the front desk. Certainly not as elegant as we experienced at this hotel prior to Covid.
