Overview

Vibrant colors with lots of natural light greet guests as they step into the lobby of the Hayes Street Hotel. Less than three blocks off Broadway Avenue in the fashionable West End neighborhood, this boutique inn feels country-chic -- think modern furnishings with Americana accents, like porch swings on the indoor-outdoor veranda and rotary-style phones in guest rooms.

The cool vibe is rounded out with loads of freebies like complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Other amenities include the on-site fitness center and Hayes Street Bar, where guests will find a mix of classic and newfangled cocktails -- for instance, the Honky-Tonkin' Old Fashioned or the Hayes Street Kicker -- as well as appetizers and small plates.

Guest rooms are comfortably appointed with one king or two queen beds, plus minifridges, coffee makers and light-up vanities in the bathrooms. There are also USB ports for all your devices, in addition to flat-screen HDTVs.

Hotel was nice and clean

The rooms could use better lighting. The bathroom light is very dim. That’s the only complaint.

To begin, our visit was almost a disaster. After driving more than 10 hours from Milwaukee and getting in late we were told by the front desk clerk that our reservation was in their system for December and not August 15 - 18 as booked. I produced our printed confirmation showing the August dates and that I had paid for the full stay already. She said she couldn't help and recommended a neighboring hotel and that I go to Travelzoo/Booking.com for a refund. I expressed my firm displeasure with that decision when Jason, who I believe was managing the front desk that night said he would look into it. After a few moments he offered a room with two queen beds as well as comping the valet parking fee for the length of our stay. From that moment on our stay was perfect. The bar kitchen was still open and we ordered a sandwich wrap to split taking it and our bags up to our room to settle in. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The hotel is fully remodeled and upgraded, in a great location near downtown walkable to numerous dining options. We would definitely stay again!

Room was clean and cute. We especially liked the porch swings that looked out the front windows and the patio in front where we ate breakfast.

Nice hotel off the beaten path but within walking distance of great restaurants and Vanderbilt. Good breakfast served daily. If you want to get down to Broadway Honky Tonks, best to take an Uber or Lyft or catch the trolley - the closest trolley stops are near Hattie B’s world famous fried chicken or Vanderbilt just a couple of blocks away. The trolley is a great way to get an overview of Nashville.
Other Comments
The only things lacking from room was a magnifying mirrors and bathroom fan, otherwise simply but fully-appointed.
