It's a lovely property with so much history. We enjoyed walking around the first day and seeing the old cottages. Many of the Jekyll Island's points of interest are right there in the national historic area, and you can't beat the sunset from the Wharf!

We were given a room in Sans Souci House, not in the main Lodge. We had to walk up 2 flights of stairs as there are no elevators in the Guest Houses. Our visit was nice, but not as nice as we had expected. Also, the main Dining Room wasn’t even open. Evidently they aren’t open at this time of year but we didn’t see that in any of the online information. That was a big disappointment. We ended up staying just one night because the experience was not what we had expected. Staff: Mike at the front desk was great, but they seemed under staffed as there were always people waiting in line for front desk services. I guess the good rate we got was because of these issues.

Nice campus with not much else on the island. The building has reached the end of its serviceable life. Staff was great but sparse. Hokey old music played in public areas… look I don’t want to beat up on the place. It’s not a 5 star resort but it’s not bad and you can make it really enjoyable if you limit your time there. Otherwise you’re going to be bored.

We enjoyed the historic experience but were surprised that no concierge service was available Sunday-Wednesday. It was clearly off-season and staff was minimal. There are things nearby, but you had to discover everything on your own - no help from staff to orient you to the area. They showed you where to park and how to locate your room. Dead flowers on tables in the dining room, too.

Beautiful old hotel with a distinctive feel and ambiance of relaxation. Lovely staff who were thoughtful and sought to accommodate any requests. The room was not large (it’s an old place after all) but very well appointed, pretty decor, nice linens and fluffy towels and comfortable bed. Hotel has many cozy places the gather and mingle. Jekyll Island is gorgeous! We came with bikes ready to explore the many trails and different areas of the island—did not disappoint!

Travel Zoo made the booking so easy. The Island Club Hotel is a wonderful historic residence with unbelievable magnificent trees and walking paths. Take the trolley tour to learn about the history and view one of the original cottages on the property. They provide a shuttle to go to their adjacent property the Ocean Club so you dont really need to drive. We will be back.

It is a beautiful old hotel that has been renovated. The grounds are gorgeous with the old oak trees. This hotel is not on the beach but overlooks the intercoastal waterway. The only thing we did not like is we were told we would have a king bed and it was a queen. Also, the room was very small.

This was a friends trip. We were all able to reserve our own rooms. They were beautiful. The hotel was beautiful with a lot of history and a relaxed “gilded age” vibe. The Travelzoo deal gave us beach access with umbrellas and chairs, which made for a wonderful beach day with my friends. We ate dinner at The Warf and watched the sunset. I pray this deal comes around again, because I will definitely go back.

Room was "blah", with tiny bathroom and big furniture that left only walking space around the bed. The only seating was a huge wing chair, so we requested another small chair that was delivered by the second day of our stay. Our view was of the metal roof, so it didn't matter that the windows were filthy. I liked not having room service unless requsted, since all our belongings didn't
have to be put away each day. A nice benefit was having access to the Ocean Club by shuttle, so that we could access the beach. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The complimentary historic tour of the hotel was very good.

The hotel and grounds totally exceeded my expectations! It was absolutely beautiful and we would love to return. It was nice to be able to go to the sister hotel and use the beach chairs on the beach. I kind of felt like we had the best of both worlds, we got to stay at the Club where the grounds were absolutely breath taking and still got to spend time on the beach. They provided transportation but we rode our bikes. We also loved the Wharf restaurant, ate there twice and had awesome waiters both times.

Beautiful resort in a lovely setting. Staff is wonderful. Loved the atmosphere of by-gone days. Very tranquil and relaxing. Lots of amenities included. Only issue we had was the lack of ramps for mobility-impaired guests. There was a lift from ground level to main floor but had to be operated by the concierge only. Housekeeping services are by request only. Rooms are smaller than we expected. Overall, though, it is a wonderful resort. Definitely worth the price I paid through Travelzoo; overpriced if not getting a discount.

This was a very good opportunity/deal. The room was small, and at the very end of the hall with no view. ...... just the maintenance area. However, there were 2 windows in the room allowing for plenty of light. Nice pool. We have been staying at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for 20 - 30 years. The first morning there we ate In the Grand Dining Room. The buffet breakfast was $34 per person. We were asked if we wanted juice. We did want juice (orange & cranberry), and thought it was included in the buffet price. However, it was not. We were charged $8 for two 4oz of juice. After the tip, we paid $97 for breakfast for two. I think that is a little rich. I liked the Jekyll Island Club Hotel when it was run by the State. The Grand Dining room was available for breakfast (they knew how to host a buffet), lunch and dinner. (I think COVID ruined a lot of that).

Paint was peeling off outdoor porches and railings. The room had air conditioning but the hallways were hot, humid and smelled.

Guest services were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed using bike and shuttle to get around. My room was small, which I expected, but had everything I needed.

You go here because of the old-world charm and the natural setting. It's much better experienced if you can afford to spend a week to let the traditional "Deep South" vacation vibes settle in. Great for well-off families.

Also, the pool was way too warm.

The hotel did not want to honor the confirmed rate and costs for the travelzoo deal. They tried to make the cost higher. No one greeted us or welcomed us when we arrived and went to check in. Very strange. There were limited dining options at the main building of the hotel

We had a wonderful time visiting Jekyll and riding our bikes around the island. The room on the deal was small but acceptable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We loved the historical significance of the hotel.

It was an amazing trip! I loved the history and getting to experience a bygone era! I’m obsessed with the Gilded Age period. The history, turtles, beach, pool, food made for an unforgettable getaway! I highly recommend and already have friends wanting to go after I posted photos. I may go back with them!
