Traveled with friends for a weekend of fun. This hotel is ideal for a "roommate" situation as we upgraded to the 2-room suites. Overall, a quiet hotel with extremely friendly staff - from the front desk to the bellman to the housekeepers - everyone was happy and pleasant!

When we switched rooms, it seemed to cool down a bit. The location was great.

The first night, the room was unbearably hot. When I called the front desk, they said there was no a/c and suggested we open a window. They brought up a fan, but the room didn’t cool off below 75 (keeping in mind it was probably 40 degrees outside).
We ended up switching rooms the next day to a room that would get more breezes.
Overall, the rooms were just ok. A bit cramped, choppy floor plan, and a bit old/dated. The elevators took forever and the lobby was nothing impressive.

Staff was exceptional and we couldn’t have asked for a better location. Room was very nice, but could use a little update. Perfectly fine, though. Bed was super comfortable. Bar was very nice for drinks. Club was close to many breakfast/coffee places so we opted to go out rather than have breakfast in the club. Loved the valet service! A great experience! We will be back!

Only one staff at the check in desk and I had to wait a long time to check in. My room was so old and broken furniture and you can hear people talking from next door. The windows were thin and you can hear the noises from outside, I was on the 22nd floor and I could hear the traffic from outside. There was a small sofa and a chair but they were very worn out and felt not comfortable to seat down on those. The location was great for me since I needed to go to The Carnegie Hall for a concert.

Great hotel and location. Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Booked an executive junior suite with two kids and all were comfortable with plenty of room. Beds very comfortable and elevators not as bad as other reviews had mentioned. Clean and adequate furnishings. Will definitely stay again when go back to NYC!

From the moment we pulled up and handed the car off to the valley, our stay was amazing. The staff was highly professional, helpful and courteous. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained and well-lighted with modern decor. The bedding and pillows were super comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. The location was perfectly convenient for walking to everything we wanted to do; or taxis were easily hailed. Thank you to Travelzoo for alerting us to this great value!

Overall we were very pleased with our experience. The room was great for our family. The only issue we had was that the room was very hot because the heat was on and the AC was not on, which is typical for Jan in NY, but it was unseasonably warm the first day and that made it hot in the room.

We've stayed here before and everything was great. On this stay the bed in our room was absolutely horrible. I think the mattress was actually broken. I made desk staff aware on check out but I'm not sure they took me seriously. It was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I've slept in in years.

Superb location, loved the Jr Suite room as very large. Only thing I didn’t like was that the thermostat did not allow us to control in room temperature which was too hot at night. Fortunately we could open windows just a bit but a waste of energy in winter.

This was a family girls' trip (mimi, daughter, 2 grand daughters (ages 10 & 11), and aunt. We had a one executive jr suite and one 1BR suite, adjoining. This setup was perfect! It was like having a 3 bedroom apartment. The staff at the Manhattan Club is very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay again.

Location was perfect for us. It is a block off Broadway so we never heard any street noise but it was close enough for an easy walk to Time Square, Columbus Circle, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, etc.

I love staying here. I would give it a 5 * all the way except the experience really depends on the room your assigned. Some of the suites are fabulous, others are nice but some are awful. On this trip we reserved a one bedroom and when we got there we were put in a small dingy room in a dark corner. Luckily I had been there before and loved the suite we were in so I knew there were better suites. Upon request I was moved to a more pleasant suite.
From there our stay was well worth the money. The location is fabulous. The staff is amazing!!! It was my husband’s birthday while we were there and they were very helpful in my surprising him with roses and to my surprise they left a bottle of wine and chocolates for him!!!

I took my daughter to NYC for her 21st birthday. We have been to the city several times but this was our first time staying at The Manhattan Club. The room was very clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful; the cleaning crew does an amazing job! The room was fairly dated and could definitely use an upgrade--if you're looking for luxury, you'll have to go elsewhere. However, it was a nice, clean room with very comfortable mattresses and a nice little kitchenette. The suite we stayed in had two bathrooms, which was really great for our needs. The location of TMC can't be beat--it's about two blocks to Central Park, 7-8 blocks to Times Square area and Rockefeller Center area (5th Avenue and all the good shopping). Lots of great restaurants close by as well as a fabulous Nordstrom!

Room was old non renovated room, windows faced the back wall of building on all sides, felt like a box with no real outside natural light, smelled very dank, turned on bath tub and dark water came gushing out, dingy walls, lighting was terrible sheeting smelled, asked to be moved to another room that was minimally updated and still in same side facing the walls. The elevators were not efficient as people were crammed in the two elevators and took a long time to get on or off as it stopped at each floor. Felt like hotel gave us worse rooms in hotel because we bought room through travel zoo discount

The Amenities are excellent and the Bar is really nice and clean place. There was not much information on what the restaurant in the Club serves. Staff did not have information on a $100 dollar restaurant gift card I was to receive upon arrival.

This hotel was roomy and perfect for our family of 4. They had a pull out couch as well as a rollaway bed ready for our use. It was set up similar to a suite style with a living area and then a bedroom with a queen bed. It was also equipped with a kitchenette area with a fridge, small sink, microwave and even a small dishwasher. We were very pleasantly surprised.

In a Manhattan context, I can't imagine finding a better option for a group. The one bedroom + sofa bed arrangement worked perfectly for our group, and having a microwave, fridge and coffee maker helped us save hundreds of dollars on meals. The sofa bed was even comfortable!

The hotel was in a very good area just a few blocks from Central Park and also close to subway station. The hotel was some what dated but is under construction for renovations. The room layout was nice and the bed was somewhat hard for my taste it also had a sofa sleeper. There was a small kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, sink and coffee maker. There was also cups, plates and eating utensils. The room was on the 15th floor with a side street view. Elevators were extremely small so had to sometimes take the elevator up to go back down. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was not included in stay separate cost.

Staff was great. The concierge went out of his way to provide service. That said, the room a bit dated and lacked sufficient useable electrical outlets. The toilets were extremely low to the ground and the tubs lacked any grab bars, both of which conditions made the bathrooms uncomfortable and potentially dangerous, especially to older adults.

The rooms were spacious for the 4 of us including 2 teens, location was awesome, just a couple of blocks to Central Park and to a number of subway entrances, dining, shopping, etc. Gym was small but clean & enough equipment to clock in a complete workout. No towels so if you sweat like I do, bring one from your room. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room was amazing for a NY hotel. I am used to a shoebox sized room, but this was very spacious with a mini kitchen. I only wish we were staying longer to get to utilize it more. The lobby, however was very small and not much seating. It would be nice if they had a lounge area since they wouldn't let us check in early.

A lovely and comfortable place located near Central Park, convenient public transportation and good restaurant options. Our junior suite exceeded expectations. The recessed bed area was genius. Responsive and friendly staff. Couldn't figure out the coffee machine, but oh well. Appreciated having the kitchenette. The Restaurant.com card wasn't useful, but that doesn't reflect on the hotel.

The booking process was great. When we arrived they held our luggage and parked our car in the garage across the street. The bell staff is amazing! Check in was fast and easy. We went up some "additional" elevators and the man in the elevators "date" was leaving which was slightly off-putting. The lobby is beautiful but I can not say the same about the hallway or room (floor 16). They were extremely dated and the pictures Travelzoo presented were mildly deceiving. We were on the back side of the building so open shades gave us a view in to many other rooms. There was little natural light in the room and no overhead lighting. The room was clean. We were missing sheets for the pull out couch and despite multiple attempts to get sheets (calling and personally going to the front desk) they were not received until the next afternoon when on a third attempt we asked a woman we saw working in the hallway. Upon arrival we asked about the removal of a small glass table for safety purposes and this was never followed up on.
To summarize - All and all the stay was okay. The location was wonderful for the places we needed to visit. The room was clean. The price was reasonable for NYC. The room/floor needed a lot of updating. We accidently went to a different floor that looked 100% different. The staff did not communicate well/follow up on things. We would stay again for a quick trip but would also be open to other places as we are neutral about The Manhatten Club.

The Manhattan Club is a very welcoming property which is centrally and conveniently located to everything midtown and the subway Our room was perfect, super clean, had a comfortable bed/pillows and with lovely linens. The microwave, refrigerator, and Illy coffee/coffeemaker were great to have and use in our room. A wonderful stay - Thank You! The exceptional staff at The Manhattan Club are what make this property shine above any other. Faisal, Jesse and Jason at the front door are so helpful and great!!!! Hasnija whom cleaned our 16th floor guest room is a true gem and our room was spotless/perfect every day. We are looking forward to returning in the Fall to enjoy another stay at The Manhattan Club.

Great hotel. We booked a 1-bedroom for 3 adults. Great to have extra bathroom. Basically getting two rooms for the price of one. Staff really friendly and helpful. Didn’t have any view but got a renovated room. Nice bar and restaurant serving breakfast and on the 26th floor. I’ve stayed in many hotels in New York and this was the most spacious, value for money and location excellent!

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the Bell Hop who gathered our bags and gave a parking ticket for the car. The front desk had us in our room in no time. The room is a one-bedroom NYC apartment. It was very spacious and clean. The following day the stored our luggage as we toured the city. The location is great because it is an easy walk to Times Square yet not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. What a great stay!!!!

Similar to other reviews, we had a good stay here. The location is perfect, the room was clean, and the size of the rooms is superb for NYC. The only downside was the dated decor. I should have thought to ask for a renovated room --- if you book, do this. When we went to the bar on the 26th floor, we got a taste of what could be since that floor is renovated. It feels like a completely different hotel. Perhaps, they should offer some kind of incentive to folks staying in the older rooms.

The rooms were huge which is very unusual in Manhattan. Traveling with two children it was really nice to have two full bathrooms and a separate pullout queen bed for the kids while we enjoyed a King size bed. The location was wonderful and made traveling throughout the island very easy with many walkable locations as well.

This was a 2 day trip to catch dinner and shows. The hotel was convenient. The room was comfortable, We did open the windows to let "Fresh" air in. This is an old hotel like the majority of NYC hotels, so initial mustiness is a given. Room was clean. Don't bother using the $100.00 Restaurant coupon, unless you want to spend half a day finding the a restaurant. You have to use the $100.00 toward a "voucher" so you end up paying for a meal at an out of the way restaurant.

The location is great! We especially liked the proximity to Central Park. The hotel is outdated overall. The room was spacious and having the kitchenette was very helpful. However, the couch and chairs were old and visibly worn. The bed looked to be new and was comfortable. The staff were very attentive and helpful, which made for an overall positive experience.

Second visit to the Manhattan Club. When we booked the one-bedroom suite, we expected our adult son to be joining us although he ended up not being able to do so. In any event, our suite I was spacious and had 2 full baths. It could have easily fit 4 adults comfortably. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and outgoing. Certainly, an exceptional value in NYC when you have more than 2 people but we really enjoyed the extra space and second bathroom even though it ended up being just the two of us.

We had a king suite with pulll-out sofa and two bathrooms. Linens and towels were great. Housekeeping was great. It is nice having two full bathrooms. Right across the street from Carnegie Hall. Quiet at night. Skip the breakfast upstairs. It is okay for continental breakfast but expensive. Try Serafina, Carnegie Deli, or Ella Mozzarella instead. All on the block - 7th Ave headed toward the Park. I would go back.

Loud noise next to our room from elevator (I think). Very thin walls!!! Long line for elevator. Not able to control room temperature. One of the employees recommended we use their shuttle to JFK. There was a flat fee. I asked if they accepted credit card and was told 'no problem.' Turns out there was an extra fee for cards. Wish I would have known that bit of info--I would have just taken a taxi.

We had a good experience overall. The location of the hotel is wonderful, and the rooms are very spacious, especially for Manhattan. The fitness center is well equipped, with partitions between the cardio machines. The main drawback is that the hotel is desperately in need of a makeover. The rooms are decades out of date, and the furniture is very old and worn. One of the phones in our room also didn't work. The service is mixed - some staff members were very friendly and helpful, while at other times the service was less competent. I also to warn potential guests that you'll sometimes wait a while to get down from a high floor to the lobby by elevator.

The room was huge for New York and the staff was so nice and helpful. Our room ran a bit hot but the front desk brought us a fan and we were good after that. Hotel was under renovation, they specifically asked us if we booked thru Travelzoo, then put us on the floor with renovations. The Internet never worked, we even asked for help at the front desk and they never helped us. The phones were all dead in the room, so we couldn't be contacted or contact the front desk. The room was hot and the air conditioning was not turned on yet, we asked the front desk and they sent a person to the room who then told us it couldn't be changed and to open the window. Expected us to understand how to open the window(window had locks), with a sigh when we asked him for help.

Both times I called the front desk. Both times half the drinks were not available. One clerk promised to call me right back. He did not

The Manhattan Club isn’t comparable to a hotel - for example, there aren’t any restaurants, although there is a members bar open to all (we didn’t visit it). The lobby is small, the lobby and reception staff aren’t overly friendly and access of the elevators is a problem. There are only two, although they make service elevators available when needed. The room was a good size with a sofa and small table and chairs near the kitchenette. Very comfortable for our 6 day stay. The location was very good. We would definitely stay there again with a travelzoo deal price.

After we left, we were erroneously charged for two bottles of water in the room, which we did not use ($8 per bottle!) The front desk manager handled the situation very professionally and credited our account.
