We visited to celebrate our anniversary & Ingrid was thoughtful enough to send fruit to our room. Ingrid was as lovely and competent as could be. She’s an excellent asset to your staff & I hope to have the pleasure of seeing her again soon.

The restaurant service was completely subpar. Totally understaffed with completely inept staff. Waiting 45 minutes for a glass of water… that was only the beginning. The staff needs a total overhaul, complete with training.

We really enjoyed the Spa. Although the weather was cold and rainy one day, we found plenty to do in Montauk and at Gurney’s.

The staff at Gurney’s is friendly, responsive, professional, and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed our ocean-view room. The location is perfect for a brief getaway. We’ll be back.

I staff was friendly.

There are no elevators on property and there was no indication of this on Travelzoo or on the resort's website. The rooms are tired and could use some love. Guests must go outside and down many stairs to get to the room. It was raining when we were there.

We love this place but, I have to admit that the quality of cleaning services has declined. Common areas were not vacuumed on a regular basis and neither was the room carpet.

This was an exceptional getaway in a beautiful and serene ocean front setting.

We were two couples and experienced a fabulous time at Gurneys. We use the bathhouse, the pool had a deliciousdinner at Gigi‘s. We also use the credit for breakfast and then some… We sat by the fire pits and had drinks and snacks. The room was wonderful specifically location and view and can’t wait to see this. Travelzoo special appear again. We would definitely book at least two if not, three nights and bring family with us all adults staff was so accommodating, including the valet service and from the minute we arrived till the minute we departed everything was excellent fantastic value

Gurneys is a very special place. We’ve stayed many times and will be back.

A lot of maintenance and construction was going on while we were there. I understand they are preparing for peak season, but we had to walk around / navigate lots of bright orange barriers which detracted from the serenity of the resort.

Dog friendly hotel, but there was no table for breakfast that allowed dogs. Understand they are not allowed in the main area, but perhaps open up a few dog-friendly tables in the coffee bar / lounge area.

The place was under construction.

Had a great time together but hotel is under construction so it felt rate was a little high for that. Staff were incredible!

The room via the travelzoo deal was in the 'new' part of Gurneys, far west - the former Panoramic, which they've done well.

The Bathhouse is the standout feature - sauna steam, and facilities. Gigis, the food is not special, and high prices but it is early in the season and this will likely improve

Customer service - slow to respond and address room issues. 100% not worth it unless you get a good deal to stay here.

The value of the Travelzoo deal was great. You can not beat it. Gurneys was excellent and the resort was so relaxing. I will definitely go back.

The building we stayed in had a stale odor , needs a cleaning , painting, etc. Bathroom needs an upgrade, pretty neglected. Broken tile , shower glass was spotty, toilet didn’t work well. A little disappointed

Go every year off season, which is awesome. Have never been in season although I heard it is packed. Lovely in April. Nice staff. Restaurant was awesome! Lovely place all around. Use pool and spa and had great weather!

Ginny was so welcoming and elevated the experience of 4 women having an overnight. We ate lunch at Gigi’s and it was very enjoyable. We ended our night at the firepit which was lovely!

Nothing in the room worked! The sliding door lock to the balcony was broken, the front door lock to our room was broken, the light switch did not work & was stuck in the "on" position, the safe did not work (they replaced it 3 times & still could not provide one that worked)

We had an amazing room with a complete ocean front room and wrap around balcony. The staff was amazing. Food was delicious and the Seawater Spa was so relaxing. We had an issues with a smell in the hallway and room and moved to another ocean front room.

The hot and cold pools were a pleasure to use, as well as the steam room and sauna

Beautifully decorated, clean and updated resort. Staff was very pleasant. We enjoyed the yoga class which was included in our stay. The food and service were excellent. The salt water pool was great with big, cushioned, comfy lounges surrounding it.

This resort is pet friendly and pets were allowed in the restaurant which is concerning if you have pet allergies. Fortunately, we were not seated next to pets and since it was off-season, there was plenty of space between occupied tables in the restaurant.

At checkout at the front desk, I was accidentally charged for another room. I was asked to swipe my card and I was handed a printout of the bill afterwards. Room 525 instead of my room, 625. The front desk gentleman admitted his mistake and apologized and his colleague who was standing next to him at the desk stepped in and handled the situation from there. She told me she could not reverse the charge for the other room but she did what she had to do to apply it to the bill for my room and that I will be getting a refund for the extra money I spent on the wrong room’s bill. Instead, I have a completed charge for someone else’s room and noticed today that I have a new processing charge from gurneys in the amount of the true bill for my room, 625. There is no refund pending. I immediately called gurney’s this morning and spoke with a man at the guest reception desk. This person took all the information and said he would have a manager call me. I haven’t been called. I have both charges from gurneys. Completely unacceptable and unbelievable. Not what I’d expect from a high end hotel and spa.

Skin broke out after spa facial. Charged for another persons room and instead of refunding me, charged me for my room as well. Manager didn’t return call this morning and speaking with someone who took down the information and assured me the hotel manager would call me back same day and resolve the matter. I haven’t been called. Charges have not been reversed shame on gurney’s

I really like the staff at Dune Café. They were friendly, kind and exceptionally fast at getting my order to me. The staff at Gigi‘s was also very attentive.

The last time I visited, there were spa towels available for after I showered. This time, no additional towels were to be found. In addition, the last time I visited, there was a spa assistant who provided robes. I would have appreciated that being available again on this visit. Another thing that was disappointing was the hallway where my room was smelled. The room itself was clean, but there was paint on the curtains so I would say they are a little outdated.

Love the staff Especially Mimmo Carlos and Raphael. I love it for a romantic getaway. Unfortunately we went before Easter There were too many families with children and pets. Pool was full. I will go a different time next year

This was the dirtiest hotel i have ever stayed in. Drywall cracking and littering the floors and they never vacccumed, then our hallway flooded and then the fire alarm went off. it was so bad. sooooo so bad.

The room was not prepared for our visit. No blanket, no trash can in kitchen area, no heat, only 1 robe no turn down service on first night, and no access to telephone. Front desk tried to fix problem by sending maintenance crew. However, the phone only worked temporarily, we were given another robe, and trash can was given on second day. We were also issued a $100.00 credit. We were only there for 2 nights. All of these little simple fixes, added up to 1 big problem. For our anniversary celebration.

So this is supposed to be a high-end resort and I was highly disappointed that their whole indoor pool and bath house was new and was not working this weekend. I had at least three or four staff members book me a reservation for the bathhouse to use the hot tub and only to find out when I checked in that this was not working either. We had ants in our bathroom which I called twice about. They were supposed to come in and spray they never showed up. I was highly disappointed and was looking so forward to a weekend getaway and this was very draining and disappointing for me!!!

We booked this weekend during a cold weekend and was looking so forward to going to the indoor pool and bath house, hot tub and cool water plunge. I wanted to make a reservation to book the spa and they told me the indoor pool was not working. They told me that the hot tub and cool plunge was working so I made a reservation ahead of time for they service. when I got there. They told me the whole bathhouse was not working. A teammate from gurneys was supposed to call me to let me know and they never did we booked an oceanfront room and got into our room and the bathroom was Ant infested. There was no water pressure in the shower. The water was literally trickling out of the shower head.

The facialists were excellent. The scenery of course was beautiful and the food in the restaurant was really incredible.

As a couple that includes an individual who uses a wheelchair this property was abysmal. Although they had undergone fairly recent renovation, they blatantly ignored ADA codes and requirements, making it very difficult for a person in a wheelchair to navigate the property. This absolutely clouded our getaway and made it hard to fully enjoy.

Everything was great. The pool was closed so we didn’t end up using the spa or sauna. Our room was up the hill and we had to drive there. That was a little inconvenient to go to dinner and breakfast but everything else was great!

Hotel called to let us know there was an issue with the hot tub and pool. Our ocean view king was upgraded to an ocean front king which was very nice. Staff wasn’t great, room was great, overall a nice stay would definitely visit again.

We were there for our wedding anniversary. It was a mini staycation. There was a hiccup checking in - they couldn't find our reservation despite giving them our confirmation #. Process took about an hour to get resolved but they gave us a room upgrade for the inconvenience. Unfortunately the pool and hot plunge pools still OOS so we didn't get the spa experience. We have a fantastic dinner and even better breakfast the next morning. I can't wait to go back.

I'd been there several times for events, but never stayed. Never realized the full scope of the property. We found ourselves in an ocean front room which was fantastic, small, but efficient. The staff couldn't have been nicer. So after our initial glitch I would give it a 10 out of 10 for a winter getaway.

Had a great time with friends despite pool, hot tub, some gym equipment being broken. We were lucky with weather, if it had not been so good we'd have been more upset about the disrepair.

You just have to remind or ask for the price fix option for dinner and put your included breakfast to your room which the front desk credited on check out. In winter ask for additional blankets in room, there are none in room.

Yes, absolutely! The ocean view rooms are spacious and fantastic! Clean and beautiful to be in. The views, from the entire resort are unbeatable and close proximity to the beach is fantastic. I want to give a shoutout to the TravelZoo team who helped arrange the refund. If I'm not mistaken, Lisa was her name. Thank you for supporting your customers!

The lack of transparency and respect the resort staff showed about the malfunctioning BathHouse (their pools, saunas, etc.). During our stay they were not functioning (first evening) and then out of order for the rest of our stay. I understand that boilers and installations can break, but the fact that they did not own up to it, communicate clearly and set expectations was disappointing from a place like Gurney's. Bathhouse staff claimed the issue just started at 6pm, when in fact 2h earlier when we went to check availability, a different member told us that nothing heated works, but we are welcome to join the spa. We should also bring our room robes, as they ran out. To top it off, they didn't have towels either. All water (pools and shower) was cold. However, talking to other guests, the issue seemed to have started 3 days before our arrival. If that was the case, an email communication offering us to book another date would have been welcomed. Either way, they couldn't even estimate a time when the issue would be resolved and we decided to leave after 1 night, with a refund for the remaining nights. However, this did not cover the time off we took, the drive there and back from Manhattan (a total of 6h), the car rental + car insurance (that didn't offer any refunds), packing time and so on... it would have been courteous to let us know of an ongoing issue. It's not that I will never return (maybe?), or that I don't think it's a great resort, but I will definitely be taking a long break from it.

The room was really rundown. The bathhouse amenity was unavailable. The mixology workshop was barely a workshop. The food was super super overpriced, even for Montauk.

Mimmo, the food and beverage manager was so understanding of our situation and kind to us our 7 mo old son and took good care of us at Gigi’s restaurant on the hotel premises. The food was excellent there.

Access to the spa bathhouse was included in the travelzoo deal. I called and made a reservation for my boyfriend and I ahead of time to use the bathhouse, however when we arrived they informed us it was not open/working, which was extremely disappointing since this was the main reason for us picking this hotel for our first ever mini vacation with our son. Not only that, the person staffing the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive about it. We would have appreciated a phone call in advance to let us know of the situation especially because we had reservations. We could have rescheduled to come when the bathhouse was reopened. We would have appreciated our one night to be covered by the hotel or for them to offer another night on them so we could enjoy the amenities promised.

There was a roof leak the day we checked in the entire spa bathhouse was closed we could not use: hot tubs cold plunges steam room or sauna very disappointing

Our original room had no sofa bed and was very small and away from the main hotel. They accommodated us with another room on site next to the main building with a larger room that included a King size bed and a sofa couch.

The pool was crowded with small children and small babies. Did not enjoy my time in the pool. Staff were nice but the front desk gave me the wrong bill. It’s good that I checked before leaving the hotel. The person corrected it immediately. The room was very nice and modern but it’s a bit of a walk to go to the spa and hotel restaurant.

We absolutely loved how serene and quite the property was this time of year. It was beautifully appointed with Holiday decor. Our check in was easy with a complimentary upgrade of our room. We enjoyed our time at the spa. My wife and I booked this trip for two reasons - the Travel Zoo deal was amazing and because we love a day spa - we love Aire even more so and were excited to know that the same people responsible for Aire designed the day spa here at Gurney's. Dinner service was approachable, relaxed, and enjoyable. The fitness center had everything I needed and more. The only complaint I have is with the spa services. The check-in folks the first night were short and unwelcoming. My wife and I felt like we were almost bothering them by being there. I'm not sure if the folks there were new or just had a long day but either way, the guest shouldn't feel their frustration. Thanks for this experience, we definitely will remember this one for the rest of our lives.

Not hot water in rooms. Poor layout of room (open from door to room, bathroom door in the way. Difficult to open refrigerator, bad hairdryer. Spa could have better products and amenities. Little touches, keeping public areas clean. By fire pits, there was sand and pasta on the floor.

The property is beautiful. The renovated lobby and Gigi's restaurant were incredibly well done and the staff were all very nice. We spent a lot of time in the indoor pool and even watched the evening movie in the pool. Seeing whales in the ocean from our balcony was the highlight of the trip! We have booked this Gurney's Travelzoo deal 3 years in a row now and plan on doing it again next year.

Would only go back with a similar Travelzoo deal and assurance that hot water was repaired. Room did not have hot water. Several attempts to fix it and offered new room on same floor that also had no hot water when we checked it. Told we were only guests in that building and hot water off when no one there. Finally had to shower at spa. Must go outside to get to lobby, restaurants, spa. Similar to a motel setup. Had to walk 60 stairsteps outdoors to and from room. No elevator. Should be aware when booking for people with children, difficulty walking.

We had a wonderful time at the resort. Our room was a bit dated with a new paint job. There was a faulty outlet in the room and the hairdryer had frayed wires and did not work. The staff kindly replaced with a new hairdryer, but it also had frayed wires. The outlet was faulty and the fuse kept blowing. I alerted the staff about this. Jai was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The front desk staff was very pleasant as were the staff at the spa. We loved the amenities the ocean view, of course is magnificent and the fire pit was fun to sit around at night although very costly if you ordered drinks or food. We lucked out with the weather which was gorgeous. Overall, the whole experience made for a wonderful wedding anniversary celebration.

The amenities were great! We took advantage of the complimentary wellness classes, gym, and spa. It was great that guests can enjoy the hot and cold baths and wet and dry saunas at no extra charge. Everyone was so friendly.

We had beautiful sunny weather but with hurricanes out at sea the water was too rough. However, we enjoyed the indoor saltwater pool, the spa waters and all that it offered. Everything looks beautiful. A wonderful experience.

we had to call the front desk every day to have our room cleaned. Delivery was dropped off at the front desk and on the first night was not delivered to our room until 40 minutes later (our dinner was cold, obviously, by the time it arrived at our room).

The perfect location to enjoy Montauk. The rooms were beautiful and the beds and bathrooms were exactly what you would expect from a resort of this caliber. We loved being able to go swimming every morning in the inside pool and spend the day at the beach. Can’t wait to go back.

Gurneys was always warm and inviting and they spent tons of money to put in a new lobby and restaurant. Everything is marble and chrome and cold and it’s gotten very expensive. But everyone was nice.

The property is beautiful, but was a bit sullied by end of season disarray. The beach club was a mess-- trash & chairs everywhere & the circuits/spa were also unclean. While this does not take away from our overall experience, we were actually quite surprised that such a high-end place would allow such mess-- in fact & in truth, we have never been on a dirtier beach! Newspaper everywhere; empty bottles & cups; chairs & umbrellas tossed everywhere-- it was quite disappointing

The oceanfront room was wonderful with an amazing view and nice finishes. Breakfast was delicious and staff was very courteous. Travelzoo package was a great value!

Location is right on the beach and rooms have balconies. The only negative is it’s very expensive to eat in both the cafe and restaurant.

Upgraded to an oceanfront king, great room , amazing views. But was not told there would be a resort fee added to bill, was pretty surprised with that. Over all it was a great getaway!

Although, there were some issues such as no WiFi due to construction around the resort and the temperature in the pool were off All in all the staff and ambience of the resort outweighed any inconvenience. We had such a relaxing and peaceful experience. The Bath House was perfect, the room amazing and the staff were wonderful. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant on site and the food and staff were impressive. Dimitri was so knowledgeable and friendly. Ginny was an absolute joy to meet with and she was so knowledgeable about the place.

Resort is lovely however if you have difficulty with steps, it is difficult to get around the property.

Wonderful location. Great to go pre season. Not too many people. The room we stayed in was new and beautiful. The restaurant we were able to apply our $60 was really great. We had wonderful omelets with fingerling potatoes. There were lots of great choices for breakfast. The cost of food is on par with where you are so we understand that an omelet is $24 not $13 like where we live. The spa is really beautiful with the big windows over looking the ocean. Only disappointment was that the steam room wasn't working and there are a LOT of stairs.

Gurneys was great. The rooms are nice and comfortable, the gym and pool are top notch. Our only complaint is there were no hooks or towel rods in bathroom and the pocket door wouldn’t stay closed. Otherwise all excellent

Beautiful resort, and location we definitely want to go back.

Quick one night stay in the off season. Even though the website didn’t mention it at booking there was construction happening during my stay. Finding this out thanks to reviews, I called ahead and requested a room a reasonable distance from the construction. The only inconvenience was a slight hammering noise that carried from the construction site, the morning I was leaving. The room itself was beautfiul but could’ve used minor improvements. The bath house was very nice except that the steam room wasn’t working during my stay but I was able to visit it both on the check in and checkout dates. The breakfast was good but nothing worthy of a followup visit if there wasn’t breakfast credit in my package.

Everything was great except for the uncomfortable mattress. Dining experience at the igloo could be better if it was cleaned thoroughly and more insulated from the cold.

Relaxing time. Off season so a lot of restaurants were still closed.

With the exception of their construction and spotty WIFI, the place was SPECTACULAR.The staff was so nice and helpful. The property was stunning. I would love to come back when the weather is warmer to fully appreciate all of the resort's amenities.

Very secluded. They made sure the kids were entertained. There was "shuttle" service into town. Lots of restaurant choice. Easy to get to from LIRR. Plus if you drive so you can do some sightseeing. Excellent service and extremely friendly staff.

The service was poor, the pool was crowded and not managed, food was mediocre.

I had a relaxing and peaceful visit, the staff was exceptionally. They made my stay even better. Will definitely return.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. At the time of booking, it would have been helpful to know that the restaurant and lobby would be under construction at the time of our stay. We inquired about ADA accessibility in the resort and never got a response back. The lounge is only accessible via stairs. There is no ramp entrance.

I really truly do like the resort and the amenities the kids club was very valuable and my kids had a great time there but I am very disappointed about the pool.

The pool was definitely not heated. Last year we went in March and the pool was heated and it was so enjoyable since that is basically the only amenity available (especially for kids) during the winter months. This time the pool was not heated, although they kept telling me it was, my kids were in it shivering. I just think for the amount of money you spend to stay here in the winter the pool should definitely be heated and enjoyable.

We went for my birthday- all was great! Only thing was we didn't get the credit for breakfast and had to call about it; still waiting for it to come through.

Excellent Travelzoo deal at an otherwise pricey resort. Very nicely appointed room and spa facilities. Dreary winter weather did not detract from having an enjoyable getaway.

Amazing staff, always helpful. Oceanfront room was nice size with large patio and beautiful view. Food and cocktails were very good, but very pricey. Very large wine list with several bottles not much more than $50, and lots over $100. Spa is amazing. Very large pool, lots of lockers in an elegant space. Massages are expensive. Outsiders get to stay all day in the spa when they purchase a session, so it is woth it for them, but guests pay the same as outsiders, which is too much.

Off season during the week meant the spa and restaurant were practically all our own. Ongoing construction did not bother us at all. The lounge is as big as most restaurants, and nicely decorated with fireplace, large bar, full menu and floor to ceiling windows overlooking ocean. Plus there was no problem getting an igloo where we had a great time one night. Finally all should know that the waves in Montauk are usually very rough.

Well the bathroom was so tiny and the coffee at Gurneys is AWFUL.. it’s suppose to be Jack something brand and it wasnt even drinkable. Had to go to a local deli for coffee. Also the prices for room snacks is crazy expensive . Tiny bottles of wine for$50 and Resees candy bar for 7:00!!! Maybe reduce the prices and count on volume. Overall the prices are outrageous but it is the best hotel resort out in Montauk. The facial was very good but still overcharged at $345.00 including mandatory tip and fee of 20%. Fun but too expensive

This was a wonderfully relaxing Girls Getaway! The Zen and Movement classes were a great way to start the day. The Bath House visit continued the relaxation and we were very happy to stretch out by the pool for awhile.

We hope to make this an annual trip. Please keep the wonderful deals coming so we can keep going!

Our room was great and enjoyed the spa. Unfortunately the hotel is under renovation and the dining experience wasn’t great.

Front desk went out of their way to accommodate my partner with a cane. He gave us more accessible room with few steps . Much obliged.

The hotel is undergoing major renovations /construction and I was not notified of this prior to arrival. There was noise , things were blocked. Staff was untrained

Wonderful. They are doing construction so it’s a little tricky to navigate the property but everyone there was so helpful and they didn’t just point, they said follow me and brought you to where you were going. Staff is so nice and friendly.

Beautiful spot. Crazy expensive and we only go off season. But it’s nice and quiet on the ocean.

Although Gurneys is in the process of a major renovation the resort and staff are ready to accommodate our needs and we had a wonderful room and breakfast every day. The spa is fantastic and the massage therapist was very professional and gave a great massage.

We enjoy coming here in the off season and appreciate the travel zoo offers- we will be back!

Spa was good

I was not made aware of the extensive construction. There were no lounge areas the bar and restaurant were closed due to renovations. No cushions for outdoor seating by the firepit. Service and quality of breakfast poor.

They were undergoing construction which is why they offered the deal. It was literally walking through a consruction zone. But we enjoyed ourselves anyway. The included bathhouse and breakfast made it worthwhile.

A beautiful hotel and location, but it's on a cliff so you'll be walking up and down the paths and stairs constantly to get to the beach, spa, dining, indoor and outdoor pool regardless of where your room is located.

I’ve been there many times and was excited to return. 1) I was surprised that the extensive construction was not more clearly advertised. It was very much a construction zone. 2) the food was really, very bad - but still overpriced. I am used to great food there so this was a major disappointment

Just a heads up….Gurneys is a construction site. You will not have access to a beautiful lobby, or fire pits. Unfortunately for us the pool was also closed for a “deep cleaning”. However….. our room was beautiful, spring for the ocean view. The staff was great, and the one restaurant that was open was really very nice. You cannot beat the location, but alittle away from town etc. Just a shame we weren’t told about the construction since it’s pretty much the entire resort.

Get the travelzoo deal… it’s def worth it for a night away.

Overall good experience but it would have been good to know that the restaurant, cafe, bathhouse and lobby were all closed for construction.

The views are spectacular, it was nice to wake up with a view of the ocean.

The resort was overflowing with children! When we checked into our room, we immediately asked to change rooms because of the kids running around on the floor above us. We were not able to sit by the pool at any time over the weekend because there were no empty seats. There were about 30 kids overtaking the pool at any given time, with parents seeming to not care about supervising. We decided to use our $60 breakfast credit towards the buffet on the first morning ($45 per adult, available 8-11AM). We arrived at 8:50 AM and there was barely any food left at the buffet. We were told by 5 different servers, then the manager, that the food would be replenished with a fresh batch of everything. 30 minutes later (at 9:30 AM) the chef decided to close down the buffet without any notice. We then ordered off the menu, food was very expensive (which we knew in advance) with small portions. The second day, we ordered breakfast off the menu and the same exact items we had the day before were about half the size (and the same price). When we arrived at the spa on the first day, we were told they ran out of robes and we should have brought the robes from our room. In general, we were hoping for a romantic relaxing weekend getaway and this definitely was not the case. The weekend getaway was definitely not worth the money or the trek to Montauk. Save your money and go somewhere else for a fraction of the price and a much better experience.

Staff were excellent and accommodating! Rooms were spacious and the spa was enjoyable. Wish we had more time there. Would love to experience the hotel in the summer.
