Nice spot. Historic. Great food. But, certainly off the beaten path.

I was so excited that you partnered with this resort! We had a super time swimming, enjoying movie sights and driving a golf cart!
Other Comments
We found the staff to be very unfriendly and unhelpful. There were no double rooms left so I lost 30% of the value of my voucher and they made no effort to compensate for this.

Lovely old lodge. The lake is gone now but the place is still beautiful. Nice hike to the mt top directly behind the lodge!

We would have liked a tv in our room for relaxing in the evening but certainly could live without it.

12 of us took my Mom for the Dirty Dancing nostalgia. The staff is top notch, from the Harvest restaurant to the front desk to the Outfitters activities center. The setting is serene in the mountains. The food onsite was outstanding, had dinner twice and breakfast three times and nothing to complain about, rave reviews. Just an absolutely warm and inviting property.

One thing about this resort is not much young children can do. I have 3 yr and 5 yr old, the pay activities are not right for them.

This location up in the mountains was wonderful. It's a rustic resort, which isn't a bad thing, you just have to know ahead of time that there's no air conditioning in the rooms (not necessary when we were there in mid-August) and lots of walking/steps. It's not conducive to people who are disabled or have trouble with stairs. The staff was helpful, the outside bar delightful, the family-oriented pool area nicely kept with several options, and a staff to recommend hikes and recreation options. The Dirty Dancing connection is also fun. We stayed in the lodge, but would consider renting a cabin on the next visit.

The resort is located in a very secluded mountain setting which is beautiful. The lake, however, is no longer there, having dried up completely several years ago. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. Our server, for dinner, was not knowledgeable, and was far from attentive to our needs.
Other Comments
The rooms are dated with no A/C.

Overall experience is good, but hotel is overpriced. Rooms are due for maintenance / overhaul. Restuarant food is overpriced, should have more accesible food options to cater to the real audience of the hotel (this is not a four star hotel!).

Stopped here for a surprise birthday overnighter on our way back from Myrtle Beach. My wife is a huge Dirty Dancing fan and the place looks identical as it was (minus the lake). The surrounding mountains are beautiful and the view from the lodge breathtaking. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and did everything possible to make our stay special - mission accomplished!

The rooms were beautiful and could not have been cleaner. The bed was really comfortable. The food and drinks were top notch - I highly recommend the pickle chips, buffalo burger and peach bourbon sweet tea!! Thanks to everyone at the lodge again you really made our stay memorable.

We had a wonderful time at Mountain Lake Lodge. We would certainly go back. All the staff were fantastic. Pool was great. We really enjoyed the food in The Harvest Restaurant. For the price we paid on Travelzoo, it was amazing. I would certainly book this offer again.

I think a little extra cleaning would be good. (dead bugs on veranda window ledge where we sat to eat). A small fridge in the rooms would be useful. The box fan was great, but rather dirty. As others have said, no air-conditioning, but that is what I expected when I booked.

It was a beautiful setting. The restaurant was excellent. We went in July and stayed in the main lodge. There is no air conditioning and our room was quite warm during the day. We put a fan in the window and it was ok for sleeping. It was a lot of fun to take the Dirty Dancing self tour and see the spots.

The rooms have outdated furniture, but were clean. Bathroom was remodeled and clean which was nice. Included all toiletries you could need. No A/C on the property, but we knew that going in. No big deal since the mountain air is fresh. Great deal for a one night stay, but wish the deal included pet-friendly rooms because we would have stayed longer if we could have brought and enjoyed the property with our dogs. Otherwise the nostalgia of Dirty Dancing was really fun and we enjoyed hiking around the property, especially in what used to be the lake! Really enjoyed visiting the restaurant with its locally sourced produce and fresh ingredients. The $50 credit was put to good use as the dinner menu was pricey. Looking forward to visiting again when the construction of the new patio and bar is complete!

Rooms have outdated furniture, but were clean. Bathroom was remodeled and clean which was nice. Included all needed toiletries. No A/C on the property, but we knew that going in. No big deal since the mountain air is fresh. The grounds could be better kept though, all of the front bushes were overgrown and needed trimming. Also a $75 pet fee per dog is excessive I think. Perhaps offer a deal where that fee is waived for well-behaved and/or short-haired dogs.
