All the hotel employees were pleasant and helpful. The room was especially comfortable with a great view of the Back Bay. Bed was extremely comfortable and the A/C worked well. Parking was right next to the hotel.

The Colonnade location is next to numerous museums and dining establishments. The Colonnade is actually a stop for the Old Town Trolley which we used for a very pleasant tour of the Back Bay/City/North End and South Boston areas. We look forward to visiting Boston again and would definitely consider the Colonnade as a top option.

The pool allows day passes but they sell so many there are no seats for hotel guests. The pool area was packed with 20-somethings enjoying the view and the pool which is great except never once in 4 days could I enjoy the pool. Guest services acknowledged it’s a “problem” but I paid for a service we could not use. The front desk staff were young and poorly trained. Everything got a shrug. Zero interest in helping. One example I had a package delivered and they told me it wasn’t there. I asked them to check again and I got a shrug. I then looked over his shoulder and I could see my package. I said oh look, there it is. He grabbed it, handed it to me and walked off. The best service is at the restaurant for breakfast. Gracious, warm and fun women working there and the breakfast is terrific. It’s too expensive for what is offered

Dear Hotel Manager/Guest Services Team,
I am writing regarding my recent stay at The Colonnade Hotel in Boston for three nights, from Thursday, April 9 to Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Unfortunately, my experience was significantly impacted by a couple of serious issues. First, the heating/air conditioning unit in my room was not functioning properly throughout my stay. The heat was excessive and would not stop blowing. Despite attempts to adjust it, the temperature remained uncomfortable, which made it difficult to rest and enjoy the room. Management indicated it would be fixed, but the temperature could not be adjusted. Opening the windows was necessary but resulted in very cold night temperatures, creating an inconsistent and disruptive environment that made it difficult to sleep and maintain basic comfort.
Additionally, I was very concerned about encountering a rat in the hotel lobby during my stay. This raised serious concerns about cleanliness and overall safety standards, and it detracted greatly from what I expected to be a comfortable and high-quality experience. When the rat was reported to the front desk, the attendant was dismissive, said nothing, and did not address the issue. The lack of response further compounded my concern and left me feeling that guest safety and sanitation were not being taken seriously.
Beyond the immediate discomfort, these issues had several broader impacts on my stay:
Loss of essential amenities: A functioning climate control system is a basic requirement, not an optional feature. Its failure meant I was unable to use the room as intended.
Sleep disruption and physical discomfort: The extreme and uncontrollable temperatures significantly affected my ability to rest, which is a primary purpose of booking a hotel stay.
Health and sanitation concerns: The presence of a rodent in a common area raises legitimate concerns about hygiene standards and potential exposure risks.
Lack of adequate remediation: While the AC issue was acknowledged, it was not resolved during my stay, and the rodent issue was not addressed at all, demonstrating a lack of timely or appropriate corrective action.
Diminished value of the stay: I paid for a level of comfort, safety, and service that was not delivered, substantially reducing the overall value of my reservation.
Impact on overall experience: Instead of enjoying my time in Boston, I had to manage discomfort and concerns that should not arise at a hotel of this standard.
Given these circumstances, I am requesting a reimbursement for my stay. The issues I experienced did not reflect the level of service and quality associated with or advertised for The Colonnade, and they materially affected my overall experience.

Everything was great. We had problems with the television. We wanted to watch the baseball game but it was not on the TV so we called the front desk. They said they would send someone up to look at the TV but it was never fixed. The front desk person who checked us in did not tell us about the area for complimentary coffee. We found it on the last day.

Everything was great! The rooms were clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. The best thing about the Colonnade was the staff. Traveling for a medical appointment at the hospital down the street. Three adults. The hotel was fantastic, the staff was extra helpful, kind, and courteous. The hvac was a little bit loud and the bathroom a little small, but we didn't go to the hotel for the experience of a bathroom. The staff really sold the place. The restaurant was expensive.

Even though it was specifically offered, the hotel does not offer valet. I pulled up in rush hour and waited for someone to come out until finally I left my car double parked and went inside. The person at the front desk just said they do not have valet, and to pull into the adjacent garage. Very awkward. I left my bags with the front desk and parked myself but once in the garage I had to pull over to call the front desk for instructions on where in the garage I was supposed to park and if I needed to take a ticket. Again, very awkward. Once in the room, it was very clean with a pleasant view. The furnishings were slightly worn but the bed was comfortable. Sadly the heat would not turn off so it was a very uncomfortable night. The shower pressure was lovely but the tub wouldn't drain. There was also some mold in the tub. Chromecast was advertised but the feature did not work, nor could anyone fix it. The restaurant was fine, average for a hotel breakfast. Overall, just too many misses. Next time I'm in the area for work I will book elsewhere.

The pool was fantastic. Great pool and staff. A couple of snags - the GFCI outlet in the bathroom was not functional and we didn't notice until the next morning. The staff should have caught this before arrival, but it was repaired very quickly after we notified them. Parking garage was full upon arrival. I had to park across the street at the PRU for $24 until I could move my car back to the hotel garage to take advantage of 50% off parking.

This stay was a birthday trip for my husband, who wanted to check out the rooftop pool. The hotel is beautiful, clean, spacious, and in the perfect location next to so many attractions in Boston. All of the staff were extremely professional and pleasant. The room was great and we had a 9th-floor view of the South End and beyond on a gorgeously clear day. The rooftop pool was nice, although space and lounger access was at a premium. We would definitely return, though.

We appreciated the great location, the large room and the ability to open a window. The AC was VERY loud and we turned it off periodically (including while we slept). We would have liked to use the pool but it was terribly crowded. I would have appreciated a way to make boiling water for tea without using the Keurig, which makes tea taste like coffee because of the remaining coffee left in the machine. But I appreciated that staff were willing to bring me hot water for my teabags.

When we checked in, the front desk person did not tell us about the location of coffee/tea all day in the lobby. I only learned about it when we checked out as someone was explaining it to someone checking in.

My King room was perfect. Lots of space, table to sit at if needed, coffee bar, lovely bathroom. I was on the top floor with easy access to the rooftop pool. The pool area was busy on Sunday afternoon when I arrived. It started clearing out around 5pm, and was quiet on Monday morning.
There’s a Logan Express bus that takes you straight to the airport one street over. My granddaughter and I just wheeled our luggage through the mall which is directly across the street, down the escalator, and you’re at the bus stop. $3 for adults with children under 17 free with an adult. The bus is free if you’re coming from the airport to Back Bay. A great deal! The Green line (subway) is right outside hotel door. Great way to get around to areas that you can’t walk to.

Our only disappointment was the bed. Hard as a rock! I know they're changing over the beds because last visit we had a new bed, but not this time unfortunately. Other than that the staff from the front desk, valet, pool area and house staff a TEN!!! Through out our visit.

We typically stay at the Westin Copley Plaza but ended up cancelling and going with the Colonnade Travel Zoo special - mainly because of the parking discount. (Self parking only FYI). We really enjoyed the hotel, the rooftop pool is awesome. Guest room is roomy - plenty of room. Comfortable layout and nicely appointed. Beds and pillows were comfortable, immediate hot water in bathroom and strong shower pressure. Only a couple of comments... room is lacking in outlets/usb/usbc outlets that you typically find at newer hotels. Not frustrating enough to never stay there however it is a bit inconvenient especially if you have to do some work. All of the staff were amazing - from the lifeguard to the bartenders---- With the exception of the incredibly rude front desk agent that checked us out. She was either an incredibly unhappy individual or having a bad day (keep in mind it was only 11am). Dreadful. If I would have encountered her at check in, likely would have left.

The staff was great. Room was ok, clean. Toilet bolt cover was missing, not a big deal but struck me.
My only real complaint was the a/c. It literally sounded like a freight train each time it kicked on. So much so we had to turn up the volume on the TV & lost sleep at night. It was insane.

Simply cannot beat Green line T access right outside the hotel front door! Stayed here for one night to see a show at the Wilbur nearby. Lovely 4 stops on public transit there and back. Everyone working there is very friendly, professional, and outgoing. Pristine cleanliness. For the right price, my partner and I would easily return here again and again.
