The 5-star resort treats guests to a luxurious SoCal experience with "postcard-worthy ocean views" (National Geographic). This hideaway is not only elegant, it's also sustainable, so much so, that it's a part of the Beyond Green Sustainable Travel Collection.

The private accommodations make it the perfect place for an unplugged romantic getaway or a family weekend. Each room is decorated with elegant coastal ranch décor and features a private outdoor furnished patio or balcony to take in the scenic canyon or creek views.
There is no shortage of fun at the hotel with plenty of activities for everyone. Golf enthusiasts can swing clubs at the naturally lush nine-hole golf course. For more adventurous activities, guests can take advantage of the SoCal sunshine and go kayaking, surfing, paddleboarding or hiking.
Travelzoo Deal Experts rave about the food at Harvest Restaurant, which specializes in American and California comfort style cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved the location - Most of the food was great at dinner but I would just get appetizers - They were better than the entrees. The scallops my husband had were not great

Check in was easy and parking was super convenient - close to the room and no valet required so it was easy to get in our car and go. We dined at the Lost Cafe and Harvest and both were very good. Would stay again.

Beautiful property and great on site restaurants, Harvest, and cool beach side dining at the Lost Cafe and they provide umbrellas and chairs for guests. The walls are a little thin, but it wasn't a problem. The attention to detail in the room and great shower / bathroom made our stay super comfortable. Parking was easy and the location of the resort was perfect - only a quick 5 minute drive to South Laguna cafes and breakfast spots and less than 10 minutes to Main Beach and downtown Laguna.

Menus limited. Some items not proactive, like telling us about the bag with masks and sanitizer at check in or fruit plates available for breakfast. But every staff member was excellent in customer service and very, very nice. The only issue with rooms were that they were not very sound proof.

Exceptionally beautiful and well-kept resort. Really enjoyed the serene environment, food, service, and rooms. Beds were a bit more firm than my liking but this was made up for by the heavenly shower in our room. Didn't get to try to pool due to the cooling weather, but really enjoyed being walking distance to a gorgeous beach and beautiful parks and trails nearby.
Other Comments
While *most* resort guests adhered to the CA statewide order to wear masks while in public, there were a considerable amount of visitors (unsure whether resort guests or the general public) that did not consistently wear masks while on the premise. I alerted resort staff to this. While there are signs saying to wear masks, this was not openly enforced by resort staff. This not only made me uncomfortable, but was a core reason I chose to stay at this resort as I thought they'd be adhering to protocols to keep guests and staff safe and socially distanced. Would recommend that the staff do more to enforce this for everyone on premise, else if you are visiting be prepared to see folks not adhering to this 100%.

Beautiful and relaxing overnight stay. Enjoyed the Happy Hour in the amazing patio area overlooking the golf course. Enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Harvest Restaurant with a delightful server. Rooms were spacious and we enjoyed the patio for afternoon reading. Location, rooms, food, and staff were all outstanding. The valet staff we incredibly helpful.

On a positive note, we absolutely appreciated our server, Amy at the Harvest restaurant. She was outstanding. Many thanks to her for making our anniversary dinner special.
Lastly, the staff at the golf course were very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.

1. Our travelzoo promotion included a bottle of wine to be provided by the resort. We were told at check-in a bottle would be delivered and it never showed. Upon checkout we mentioned it had been overlooked so they could be aware that the employee who assisted us did not follow through. The employee checking us out was rude and non apologetic. She said she'd give it to us to take with us if we wanted it. That defeated the purpose.
Another disappointment was the lack of parking. There are very few parking spots and the valet parking service area is confusing and unorganized.
Lastly, the walls of the rooms are not adequately sound proof. We could hear the adjoining guests television late into the night and conversation too.

The Ranch feels like a wonderful, secluded, quiet getaway In the middle of South Laguna. There are so many options here; if you need a quiet, serene property to chill out, the Ranch is perfect. If you want to drive into the Forest Ave area for a little more action, it’s close by. We used a travelzoo deal and would definitely come back. Meals were delicious and there is music every day from 4-8pm at the outdoor patio area overlooking the golf course. If you are into golf, there’s a nine whole course that meanders back into the canyon. The property is beautifully maintained and the staff is warm and friendly. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is your eden

It was a nice intimate hotel in a wonderful location close to the beach but hidden in a beautiful canyon. I thought it would be more quiet and serene but our "villa" was literally at the pool and it was loud with tons of screaming kids the whole stay. Way more kids here than I imagined. We were traveling with an 11 year old but it was a bit much even for us. Our "villa" which was really almost a condo was not what i envisioned from the word villa but it was nice. You are basically in a long building and share two walls with adjoining villas and the patios are not really private at all. In hindsight i would have stuck with a regular room as we weren't entertaining or traveling with friends. However even though my expectations didn't match what i experienced there, it was a nice little getaway with some nice walks and a nice location. I am glad i tried it.

I had gone to this hotel as a kid in the 60's with my parents. I knew it had been closed for years and was happy to learn it had been renovated and reopened. We found the entire place to be delightful. The room was exactly as pictured, the staff was all masked in this COVID environment, and the dinner and two breakfasts we had at Harvest were very good with excellent service. We enjoyed the live music on the patio in the evening as well. Though we are not golfers, we would most definitely return.

We usually travel as a family but this particular trip was just my husband and myself as we were celebrating our anniversary. The hotel was very quaint and quiet and the golf course was a beautiful backdrop. We had lunch at The Harvest and also ordered room service as well as breakfast and all the food was very good. The pool is small and on Saturday it was very busy. The rooms were very well done but a little on the small side, which made for a cozy stay. It almost felt like camp in some ways but the customer service was outstanding and all of the staff that we had interactions with were extremely friendly & knowledgable with providing us places to eat and beaches to visit. Overall a lovely visit and we appreciated the bottle of champagne left in our room very much.
Other Comments
One note I would mention is that on the special it said that there was a private beach. The beach is actually a public county beach and it is extremely crowded. The hotel has golf carts to take you down if desired. We opted to go to some more private beaches that were just a short drive away. So that was a little misleading but luckily easily remedied.

The ranch is in a great location, its close to the beach, yet secluded if you want some privacy. The rooms are more like individual cottages, which gives it more of a boutique feel compared to a traditional hotel. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely enjoyed the stay, and are grateful that Travel Zoo collaborated with this hotel, otherwise, we would have never found out about it.
Other Comments
While it could be covid related, the dining menu at the harvest is somewhat limited. More options need to be added (if indeed the limited menu is not covid related). It would be nice to have screens on the sliding glass window, so you can sleep with the window cracked without flies and bugs coming in. And while you get a golf cart ride up to the corner for the beach, when i was ready to come back to the hotel with my son, i was unable to get anyone on the phone at the front desk to pick us up after calling repeatedly, so we had to walk back to the hotel from PCH. If would be nice if they could set up some kind of notification buzzer, similar to how they have in parking garages, that goes straight to the front desk in order to send someone to pick you up. These are small things, nothing that would prevent me from staying at the hotel again,
