Surrounded by private oceanfront estates, the charming York Harbor Inn has the air of an exclusive seaside hideaway. It sits in direct contrast to southern Maine’s more commercialized resort areas, and the original timber was laid in the 17th century.

Country Inn rooms are located in the Main building and are smaller in size with queen size beds, flat screen tvs, and private baths. Our Luxury room options vary but many come with four-poster beds, ocean views and terraces, fireplaces and Jacuzzi spa tubs. Luxury rooms are available in the pet-friendly Harbor Crest Inn and beautiful Chapman Cottage with its own dining option, Tavern at Chapman Cottage. Serving seasonally derived small plate menu with outdoor dining on the deck and patio.

There are two dining venues in the main lodge. The lower level houses Ship’s Cellar Pub, which resembles the inside of an elegant yacht. The pub’s live music draws crowds several nights a week, and the lobster roll is delicious.

Wake up to a hearty hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage and fresh pastries, and stay connected with free Wi-Fi. Or unplug with a relaxing dip in the outdoor hot tub (open year round).

The Nubble Lighthouse (one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine) is a 12-minute drive north along the coast. Across the street is a beautiful oceanfront park, Hartley Mason Reserve, a perfect spot to relax.

Beautiful location, people are fantastic, the chef is amazing and it is the perfect getaway from it all! It is our seventh year going there for a rest and it never fails to live up to previous years ... just keeps getting better! The Ship Cellar Pub is our favourite place to wind down the day!!

Internet and cable were down because of a recent storm. A small discount should have been offered because of the inconvenience.

Our room had two steps down into the bathroom after the door was opened. No railing - no warning. Seemed a bit unsafe - falling risk. Lovely room - lovely bathroom.

Lost electricity at 4:30 am, and sparks from tree that caught fire caused us to abandon room and go to our car until sun-up. No emergency lighting in the halls made for a dangerous trip out of the building Room was small and bathroom was very small. Supper was good at pub

We traveled to the Inn which was a long ride. The power was out due to a storm which was not their fault but they did not notify us until 2pm and we already had traveled to Main just wish we had gotten a call earlier. The power was not going to be restored for several days. They did say we could rebook .

The food was great, the staff (other than the false promise) was also great. The included breakfast was all that was expected in a beautiful setting with a very nice ocean view.
Other Comments
Upon request for an ocean view I received an "upgrade". I was told the room was a King room with a partial ocean view. It was located in an off site building 1/2 mile away from the main inn. The building itself was nice with plenty of charm of it's own but had no ocean view. The room had only a full sized bed and was rather small. I seriously question whether the upgrade was really an upgrade without seeing the original room.
