Check in was different and nice. Sat at a table with the hostess who gave us champagne and she went through the check in process. But it was more like meeting a new friend. Valet, Nick was very pleasant and it turns out he used to live near us on Long Island. The food vouchers we used at their rooftop bar and had drinks and a very nice lunch. I think we spent 10 bucks over the allotment. Good coffee available at 6 am was great as we are early risers plus they put together a bag of pastries and fruit for you in the morning which was enough for breakfast for the 2 of us. I honestly cannot compliment the staff high enough. The most polite and friendly people ever.

This is a unique property. We loved the wooden floors, high ceiling, & refurbished bathroom. Hospitality is the order of the day at the Vendue, from welcome to goodbye the staff was super.

I stayed there with my daughter following a college visit. The staff immediately met us, took our bags, offered refreshments, and checked us in. The concierge informed us of local experiences and those offered by the hotel. The hotel offered freshly baked cookies and milk in the evening and leaves a bag of fruit and pastries to your door in the morning.
The atmosphere is very artsy and eclectic. The lobby acts as a galley and gathering space. Our room was similarly decorated. All hotel spaces were clean and smelled amazing. We were only there for 1 night, but would definitely like to return.

The hallway to our room involved 4-5 steps down. We had fire alarm go over twice, midnight & 1am. My roommate was stuck in the bathroom. She couldn’t open the door. The right handle on the sink was difficult to turn. The restaurant had few choices and the scallops were the worst I’ve ever had.

The location of this hotel was phenomenal! Park your car and just walk to everything! The staff was extremely accommodating. Everything from check-in to the restaurant to everyone we met on site was fantastic.

From start to finish, our experience at this Charleston hotel was perfect. The friendly and engaging staff truly made us feel special, checking in with us before we even arrived. They went above and beyond to accommodate our request for a mini-fridge, and the thoughtful welcome drink set a great tone for our stay. We also loved the unique, complimentary activities offered in the stunning lobby. The wonderful service and charming vibe make this hotel a top recommendation.

We have used the Travelzoo site several times. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Vendue using the site's deal.
The Vendue is "The Art Hotel of Charleston". There is some time of art throughout the entire place. The location is amazing. Just a few blocks from the Battery with lots of fabulous restaurants w/in walking distance.
Both visits were lovely. The 1st time we stayed in the Enclave, which is newer and a little cozier. Our most recent stay was in the original hotel. It is Art Deco at its best. Lots of red and white with fun and artsy touches. The floor in the hall and in our room was uneven, so that it felt like a roller coaster in slow motion. It wasn't a problem, it was an additional decorative touch.
The whole place was sparking clean. Lots of black and white, so any dirt would show.
The staff was amazing--from the parking valet, check-in, customer service, bar service were all excellent.
In the lobby, there is a wine reception at 5, an art presentation at 6, and milk and cookies available around 9.
Our bed was comfy. Our room had an individual thermostat, so we could regulate the temperature. Great shower, lots of fluffy towels, quality toiletries.
We look forward to our next stay!
