Overview

La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa is a historic property built in 1882 on six acres of landscaped grounds. Guest rooms and suites are scattered throughout the property among 26 buildings, many historic. Hints of the former Staab Mansion can be seen in the antique wooden staircase and stained-glass windows at this AAA 4-Diamond hotel.

The Pueblo architecture and adobe style extend to the guest rooms, furnished with Native American-inspired rugs and marble bathrooms, many featuring traditional exposed beams and wood-slatted ceilings. Deluxe rooms feature a wood- or gas-burning fireplace or a balcony or patio.

Spa Sage offers indigenous treatments and features a heated pool and hot tub, a 24-hour fitness center and a beauty salon. The hotel's daily resort fee covers many amenities, including Wi-Fi, access to the fitness center, outdoor heated pool and hot tub and a variety of daily activities such as wine and cheese tastings and yoga classes.

Guests can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and nightly light food and drink offerings. Tapas and tequila are available at the historic Staab House bar, while Julia, a "spirited" restaurant and bar, pays homage to the matriarch of the Staab family, serving Southwestern flavors produced from locally sourced ingredients.

Located two blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza and one block from Canyon Road, the hotel provides a free shuttle to destinations within a two-mile radius.

From the press:
  • “Rooms on the beautiful, quiet grounds of this hotel vary, but extensive renovations have enhanced all rooms to a level of luxury befitting the somewhat steep rates” -- Fodor’s

Artist studio with personal garden area was so cozy and romantic! Central location is fabulous, too.

Food and drink prices are a little steep. That being said, a poolside waiter would be nice.

Nice setting quiet convenient

Whoever in charge of layout in room needs to be replaced. Patio door opens in to end table chair ottoman. Shower can’t be turned on without getting wet!! Spiders in the bathroom and ants in the bed!! WiFi was sporadic at best!! Staff tried to makeup for it but when you’re promised WiFi and can’t deliver, you just can’t make that up.

Very relaxing resort. We loved the charming design of the grounds and buildings. The valet parking staff were helpful and delightful, especially Rick. Loved the morning coffee in the lobby. The lobby staff employees were friendly and professional. I especially appreciated the General Manager, Joe Kelly. He is a class act. The room service staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. As we are out of the country in the summer, we will be back in the fall. This is my new Santa Fe home! Michael Scott, Boulder, Colorado

They were working on the roof in the main building and the restaurant, Julia's was closed. We were hoping to have our anniversary Dinner there. Kind of inconvenient. The first day when came back at 4 to get ready for dinner, they hadn't cleaned our room yet. Had to wait for the maid to come and do it, delaying our getting ready.

I would not have known about La Posada except for the Travel Zoo offer I took advantage of. So glad I saw the offer and made arrangements to take advantage of it with friends from another state. It was a great place to meet up, enjoy each other, and its location made exploring Santa Fe easy.
